;D  thanks dbjay....did the currie condors make the play-offs?????

Yes we did...6-3 automatic qualifier.  We play Elmhurst York on Friday night in Elmhurst.  They are a big, physical football team, but I think we have an advantage because we are more athletic and are playing very aggressively right now.  It will be fun...I am very nervous already and its only Thursday  :)

Just a little info to get  you riled up to play York.  Bill Lech I believe is the head coach at York.  I maybe wrong, let me know if I am.  However, Bill Lech is a graduate of Coe and former QB for the Kohawks.  He still holds some records at Coe, I think.

Bill Lech is indeed the head coach at York...and I didn't know that he was a Coe guy.  Thanks for the info... :)

Props to Central for the front page article.I have a great deal of respect for Coach McMartin. He definetly gets the most out of his players and they never quit.I'm sure they will be as ready on the 10th as Wartburg will be.

the 10th will have a couple of good games......if all goes accordingly...and this year that is a big 'if'...Central/Wartburg for 1st and 2nd and Luther/UD game for 3rd and 4th

This is getting me freaking FIRED UP!!!  The Wartburg v Coe fued has now cost me almost 2 hours of my day as I haven't been on the board in a couple of days.  Here is one of the things that really pisses me off.

Wow... one day back on the board and already -3 karma for the day.  Thanks alot Coe nation.

"a lot"-------IT IS TWO WORDS DSQUARED!!!!  TWO!  I guess that is what I would expect from a Knight fan/grad.

:o  Thought I might lighten the mood a little with that.
But seriously, alot, is not a word.

That is all.

I might post my opinion on the "fued" later on.

footballdaddy,

+k for the joke.

D squared talking about the regional rankings I am not sure I would go that far to put Wartburg at 3 with a win.  Central is undefeated at present and Wartburg has 1 loss.  They have a loss at what the voters see as an inferior MIAC team. Would Wartburg go up yes and would Central go down yes to that as well.  Would Wartburg be seeded higher I think yes.  But at whay places they may be is hard to say.  I have no idea what would happen or where they would be placed.  4-6 maybe if the Knights win I think might be plausible.

A substitute teacher is getting to know her class. She asks "What do your fathers do far a living?"

She goes through the class getting the usual responses-doctor,lawyer,contruction worker,etc...

She then gets to the back of the room where little Tommy looks very nervous. The teacher asks "Tommy, what does your dad do?"

Tommy swllows hard and says"My dad is a male stripper in a gay bar.He dances naked for men to get tips.Sometimes he makes extra money if he goes home with another man."

The teacher is stunned. She quickly changes the subject and gets the class working on an assignment.

She feels bad and goes back to Tommy and asks"Is that true about what your dad does?"

Tommy says"No,I made that up.I'm too embarrassed to say what he really does."

The teacher asks"What does he really do?"

Tommy pauses then says"He's the offensive coordinator for the Iowa Hawkeyes!"

(This is also a joke.)

Its funny because it is true.

How is Hinsdale Central doing this year.  They are in the same conference as York.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Since we are talking about IL HS FB..my  nephew (on my wifes side) plays at Downers Grove South (I think its south) and is a highly ranked saftey (I think #4 in the state of Illinois)..He has offers from Air Force, Western Michigan and Wyoming..Iowa has called, but nothing serious..I told him if he gets a ride to Iowa, I'll make a committment to be at every home game..Me+Iowa City=Trouble..anyone have any insight to Iowa program/recruiting?

DF2004... Don't you think that the voters will almost flip-flop WB and Central if the Knights win the season finale?  Unfortunately with a lot of hard-fought wins this year (maybe playing to level of competition or competition playing to Central's level... no clue as I haven't seen any games) will hurt Central in voters' eyes.  I wouldn't be surprised if WB wins the regular season finale to see Central dropped back to that #8 region spot and eventually get bumped for a school in a conference with a higher success rate in the playoffs.

This is not a slam against Central at all... not one at all as their body of work in football year in and year out speaks for itself.  These voters and selection committees though might have other plans when it comes to IIAC schools.

I dont see Wartburg climbing any higher than 7th or 6th at the very most barring some crazy upsets. I dont see Wartburg hosting a game regardless...If Bethel beats SJU they are both seeded ahead of Wartburg IMO. As far as hurting Central in the voters eyes, I dont think 9-1 with a close loss to Wartburg would hurt as bad as 9-1 with a loss to Augsburg. Central going 9-1 will give them a very good shot at making the playoffs at a 7 or 8 seed depending on who else wins/loses. Not that we will have to worry about that though...I like them at the 3 seed after the Dutch run the table :)

keith45,
Judging by the past months he'd better have a lawyer on retainer. It seems the most talented team in the area is the Johnson county penal league.

All kidding aside Iowa has had a history of superior DB's (see Bob Sanders).Make sure he keeps in contact with whoever contacted him from Iowa and keep sending stats and highlight videos.A coaches recommendation helps also. It's all about keeping your name in front of them. If he's an underclassmen, make sure he goes to the Iowa summer camp so they can have a look at him.The Nike combine is helpful also in getting D1 exposure.

Someone is getting dangerously close to the secret of Central's kicking game.

I just sped read the Front Page article and didn't see any mention of whether or not McMartin and Brautigam shook hands after the game last Saturday.  What kind of journalism is that?

Reigniting the Coe/Wartburg feud...

Here's what I heard:

Wartburg coach, during the handshake, asked Coe coach if Breitbach needed a summer job.   :o

Meanwhile, Cornell Entomologists secretly unleash colonies of termites and other wood-boring insects in Pella leaving the Dutch shoeless for Saturday's game.
