The all conference could take place of an evening when we can all lay out the case for each player after the vote.  Pick a night to post the information about the nominees and then have a dead line to send the votes in.  Instead of sending the info you to Walston if the info is posted here we can all take a look at it along with fans comments on why each should get the vote.  I would also consider the top two vote getters being 1st, and then runner up getting 2nd team just as in the IIAC.  I don't believe there is a 3rd team IIAC.

This is going to be elite. Only one team and if a guys happens to get a couple votes but doesn't win, he get hon. mention. This isn't the junior olympics where everyone gets a medal.
There is going to be around a hundred guys nominated, maybe more. I've got it all on Excel right now and was going to send that file out to the voters.
When everyone is nominated, and after the final game next week, I was going to give all voters the opportunity to stump for their team's guys via email.
I like the idea of doing it all at once, but with various schedules of posters on here, I think that would be next to impossible

Well if you can not do it all at once like on a night you could have the comments made on a specific day.  Then vote the next day to give the time to digest it all.

Guys don't forget to nominate OL and CBs. Everyone thinks they have stud safeties and LBS.
Could use some more WR as well.

LOL, NO I don't play! I have been out of school for years. I said "we compete" because as an alum, I consider myself a part of the SImpson community. It's just my opinion. Half of the conversations on this board take place about speculating which teams are better than others. In two weeks we will see who is more dominate- I just happen to think it will be Wartburg. Or maybe you are right, maybe Central just played really bad the day they played Simpson.

Klop- I was mostly referring to the academic side of things at BV. They may have nice facilities, and I am sure you can get a decent job, but they are near the very bottom of the IIAC in terms of academic profile. They'd have you believe they are the Harvard of the Midwest when you visit- it just came across a little too strong- too forced to be believable, and my whole point is that now i see why- they are NOT considered in the strongest schools academically.

I agree their actual campus isn't bad at all. Your theory about kids just not wanting to visit campus,  doesn't explain their below average retention rates. Last I knew it was in the mid to high 70%'s. There is SOME merit in not wanting to go to a school in a town where great internships are much harder to come by. I agree that if you could transplant that campus and put it somewhere else, they'd see much better enrollment and retention- but you can't.

Storm,

I think the above link proves that BV is no where near the bottom of the IIAC academically.  I have a hard time understanding how you came to that conclusion.  Please provide some type of data as Beaverof Yore did to support our school.

Please tell me, besides simpson due to its close proximity to Des Moines, thrives in a town that you could get a great internship at.  Waverly are you interning at Joes, Storm Lake Malarkys, Central you could intern at the Dutch bakery, Loras and UD could intern at a mississippi river tourist spot, decorha at roscoes, cornell at i guess i dont know where, Coe at the Quaker Oats factory which might not be bad.  I mean come on all these school are in town of +/- 15K with the exception of Dubuque.

Show me a hand down better business and science department in the IIAC with proof and I will agree and move forward.  Take the virtual tour of the new science center at BV...with the new cadavar lab coming soon as well.  Let me know who else is sporting that.

How about Pella Corp and Vermeer in Pella...two huge international companies. ;)

Actually there's been 3 Norse OL nominated already so I would've worry about it too much in your case.

who was nominated????

I would hope Jon Stavast would be one.  Most teams know who he is, but the Waldorf guys had a really tough day with him.

OK, I'm new and have been following the news stories in the Cedar Falls area the past few weeks and haven't seen any blog talk on it - but what's with Wartburg's QB?  Got arrested before the Loras game and (from what it looks like in the stats) didn't sit a single snap of that game or any game since.  Don't you have to sit a guy at least a quarter or even a series?  Someone mentioned Willis/Koehler philosophies before, I think this a case where they are completely different (or maybe not).  I don't know what the kid did and don't care, as a parent, what life lessons would my kid be getting by playing for Wartburg?

Walston Hoover

I think what he did played a lot into the decision to handle it "internally"
Go back about 20 pages and you'll see it discussed a ton.
