My apologies - I didn't go back far enough.  No offense meant for Ram fans out there, but it will be interesting to see if any "punishment" will be handed out this week.

Ash Park

Welcome to the board SteelerFan. No worries no offense taken.

Well if you can not do it all at once like on a night you could have the comments made on a specific day.  Then vote the next day to give the time to digest it all.
How miserable would it make your life, if that was done on the pick-em board? It might get a little crowded going in to the last weekend, and the lobbying might get a little more long winded than EMAIL. You could designate a time period to lobby that might fit everyones schedule easier. You could even designate a day for offense and another for defense ect. Not looking to add more work for you, as everyone appreciates your efforts.

Point well taken.  I made a piss pore attempt try and say these are all good schools in this conference, and that if you are truly concerned with interships, head hunter recruiting on campus, and all that other jazz you MIGHT be looking at a school like U of I, ISU, UNI, or another large out of state institution.

Pitched against the same kids as well.  Point was that team had an insane level of talent.  Point was how much did the pure talent over ride the pure coaching and motivating that had be done.  But if you explain further how that was not relevent, I would be more than happy to read and understand.

Wasn't around those years...STill at Dowling. I've been told Dave Wannstedt could win with the talent he had those years. He had losing seasons I believe the next 4 (at least an overall losing record) before heading to Cornell.
If Dillon needs talent to win, he's going to have a tough go at Cornell.

So I guess what you are saying is the best smack you're gonna bring is that Dillon didn't win his last 2 years in an Iowa High School?    :o

Let me try one out:
Wartburg and Cornell.  Pick the team that is undefeated in non-league play the past two years.   ???

Wait a minute...I'm coughing up a hairball...aahh....aaahhgg...AUGSBURG!    ;)

BTW- That's Zack DILLON as in, "What was the name of the son of the last coach to lead Dowling to a State Title?"

Hint:  Matt DILLON was the coach.    8)

Tell you what, we'll keep our 1 non conference loss, you keep your 18 game conference losing streak, and we'll call it even.
Do you realize you have fewer conference wins than we have non conference losses over the last 3 seasons?
Face it, losing is a habit at Cornell.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Easy to point out the obvious...less easy to accept the reality that there is one thing, at least, Cornell is presently better than...oops, make that 2...we do lose better than Wartburg too.

Say what you want, but Dillon is a good coach and he will turn it around.

Storm-what?

LOL, providing a link to US news ranking proves nothing. BV is ranked in a DIFFERENT, LOWER, category than Luther, Simpson, Coe, Wartburg and Central. So, yes, they are 12th in THAT category. The others are in the higher category of colleges like Grinnell, Carlton, etc- the best in the nation. Whoever posted that link is just misinformed. It is apples and oranges is all.

IF you want facts, according to the top college stat site, Petersons:
11% of BV's students have BELOW an 18 ACT. That is more than one out of ten. As far as I know they have no real ACt cutoff- 15's can be accepted. 4% have above a 30 ACT. Median ACT is about a 22.

I am sure many of the IIAC schools are WELL above that, I won't look them all up for you, but I just looked Simpson up and it says 100% are 18 ACT or above (I would guess statisically that must be rounded from 99.5 or something?? Or maybe it really is 100%?)  30 and above ACT's comprise 9%. Median ACT is 25.

Wartburg is 96% 18 ACT and above and 6% above 30 ACT.
Central is 98% 18 ACT and above and 7% above 30.

BV is definitely a step lower in regards to academic profile than the majority of the IIAC. I hate to bring UD into this, but they admittedly are well below BV, with only 61% of their students have an 18 ACT or above. They don't report a number of over 30 ACTs...

That's just the facts, plain and simple. They are hurting for enrollment and consistently lowering their standards to make up for it. It's sad but true. Sorry. I have said it before, I'm not saying you can't go there and get a degree and get a nice job- I'm just backing up what I said before- it is a lower academic makeup than the others.

Storm-what?

To me, a new building does not make a better program. It's a nice touch, but placement rates speak a little higher to me. I can't be convinced BV has ANY program that is the best in Iowa, new building or not.
