So should wartburg have to forfiet thier last 3 games?
lets see would loras look better at 2--7  or  3-6..
oh I guess it would not matter.
(just tryin to make myself feel better about a bad season  but it didnt really help)
The HAWKS-KO might like it though

Loras was sort of the yin to Centrals yang this year.  For all those close games that Central pulled out in the 4th quarter, Loras ended up losing those close ones.  The DuHawks play much better than a 2 win team.  But after they beat Dubuque 20 straight years I can't let myself feel too bad for them!!!

RE: Yordi
The timing has nothing to do with the opponent this week. I can't share the details, but I can assure you that while it is not coincidence that he is suspended now, it has nothing to do with this week being Cornell week and more to do with other aspects that have come out very recently.

Well if W-H says that the timing is not a coincidence then I will go with that.  I still say that a 2 loss Wartburg team should have at least a coin-flip chance of getting into the playoffs.

Yea its not every year you have central on the ropes.
So when you do you need to step up and finish--- Loras didnt.
That game and a few others to. So mabey the kids just didnt want it bad enough.

I think the only way we get two in is if Wartburg wins out...they Augsburg loss looks worse if the MIAC runner-up is a two-loss team.
Go Norse!!!

Does Central still get in when Wartburg beats them by 30+???

Is that with or without Yordi?!?! :D  I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.

Maybe yordi will transfer to coe for his last 2 games that way he can still beat cornell.  ( I couldnt resist either)

Im doubting for 1) that will happen especially without Yordi...the Dutch take advantage of mistakes like no other team in the conference...and young inexperienced QB's make mistakes, its inevitable 2) I think Central has assured itself of a playoff spot as most of the other Pool C teams in the region will have 2 losses barring upsets.

Wartburg has more to worry about than beating Central by 30+ Cornell pulled the upset in 2001...watch out Knights! ;) (threw that in for you PH and Ash!)

Matt Macri:  Colorado Rockies SS minor leagues
Zack Dillion:  4 year started at catcher for Baylor drafted into MLB
Tim Heaston:  played at Drake
Chris Hollman: played at Drake
James Thompson: went to Princeton for football
Matt Schwen: went to play at UNO
Aaron Fangman: UNO I believe
Ryan Opp: UNI baseball
Tom Baldwin: VIM to play football
Drew Davidson: Illinois to play baseball

not relevent but:
i pitched my first varsity game as a freshman against that team, the day before the game was the article that mentioned 5 of them got drafted in the MLB draft.  it was a lesson learned.

TME

Pitched against the same kids as well.  Point was that team had an insane level of talent.  Point was how much did the pure talent over ride the pure coaching and motivating that had be done.  But if you explain further how that was not relevent, I would be more than happy to read and understand.

I was just saying how i pitched against them wasnt relevent.. that it was off subject matter.  i know what you mean, any coach could have done a lot with that amount of talant.  and yes i did hang a few curve balls that ended up in the stands.

Got ya.  Sorry if I jumped on you.  Hung a few myself.  Struck out the side in the first two innings.  i think they got pissed and pounded me in the 3rd inning.  Went 5 2/3 and gave up 4 runs.  Somewhat or a moral victory i guess.  but that soon faded when we were running sprints for losing both games.  our head man was like the soup nazi of baseball.  a real piece of work.

Someone from Wartburg can correct me if I'm wrong but from what I have been hearing this isn't the first time Yordi has been in trouble with the school. I think last year Willis and Koehler had to beg the president to let him stay. He was having some poor classroom performance. So he could already be on some sort of probation? I don't personally know the kid but I know quite a few guys who do and I know he is a good kid but everyone makes their mistakes. I hope everything works out for him. I was actually looking forward to watching him play this weekend.

walston

i sent my picks to you at 1:40.  sorry for the delay.

Yeah but Coe isn't going to beat Cornell this year.  ;D

Walston Hoover

That would be news to me about Yordi, if true.
Regarding Wartburg v. Cornell 2001-
Cornell was 7-3 and Wartburg was 8-2 so I don't know how big of upset that was.
(We did whoop Central later on though)
