I don't know what you were expecting from the D.
gave up right at their average for points and almost 30 yards under their yards per game average.

I actually was expecting that they would do better than their average against the below average Rams...

Take comfort in that.

I actually do.  The Kaniggets were at full strength on defense...The Rams have a freshman QB still feeling his way through things.

Have things got better or worse in Mt. Vernon after year 2 of the Dillon era.
Still 0-fer real football teams.
Offense has improved by about 5ppg,
Defense has got worse by 8 ppg
Still very poor turnover ratio.
Is there improvement going on behind the scenes that we don't see in tangible things (stats, wins, etc?)

Where were all the Knight fans today?? Seemed like a small crowd for the 13th team in the country or something like that. They brag about their home attendance but there might not have been a couple hundred Knight fans there today! Phelan played well, against Cornell's D. I thought he was slow on some reads as I would suspect but scrambled well. Central will cover 10 times better so hes going to have to pull the trigger quicker and make some more turnovers!

I was serious about that. Feel good about your 7 (meaningful, at the time) points when 4 other conference teams (Luther, Coe, Simpson, and BV) were not able to do that.

I, for one, took the week off expecting a win anyway. Had to catch up on some time at home with my daughter.
Although the hawkeye win today may keep some away from Waverly and down in IC next weekend, you'll still see a sold out W-H.

Upset of the week-
Coe over Central.
The end of the year shakes out like this
UD beats Central as well
Wartburg beats Coe and Central
along with, of course, Loras this week.
Wartburg goes to the playoffs as the conf champ and UD makes it as an at-large.
For some reason I really like that UD squad right now.
Wouldn't be surprised to see them seeded higher in the playoffs.

Obviously I'm going to pick the Knights here, but I am calling this right now.
If Central wins it will be under 8 point margin.
If Wartburg wins it will be 17+ margin.

I hope your calling this from the same playbook you used earlier this year.....Dutch win big!!!!!  Very similar to their last trip to Waverly!!!!!
