That wasn't a class ring it was any one of the three conference championship rings we have gotten in the past 5 years that Cornell hasn't even been close to acheiving  :)

Gee, like we haven't heard that one before...You'd like us all to think that Coe belongs in the same category with Central and Wartburg rather than nearer to the middle where they actually are now.

Come to think of it, it kind of sounds like this:  http://www.geocities.com/dumbsounds/dumb23.wav

Coe may not be in the same category as Central and Wartburg, but the Kohawks have long since separated themselves from the likes of the lowly Scrams.

What did the Coe grad say to the Cornell grad?

"Welcome to McDonalds. May I take your order please?"

To which the Cornell grad replied, "What can I get for 50 cents?"

Charlie...I think thats funny.  Nice rebutle.  Okay Kohawks, can anyone shed some light on why there are so many Coe jokes regarding the lack of education that one receives at this institution.  According to Storm BV is the lowlifes of the conference academically ;D  Just kidding Storm I know what  you were saying.  I would find it very interesting to know how this came about.  Just like when light was shed on the Coe song.
"If Rome was built in a day, then we would have hired their contractor"

The only thing i could think of for all of these coe jokes is becuase of the neighborhood around coe is a little less classy than the areas around any other IIAC school.  Coe is the only college in a "urban" area but besides that i can think of no other reasons.

doolittledog

Loras and Dubuque aren't in urban settings???

koekrazy87

i would consider them urban but from my experience, i have known a certain house where many football players have lived at coe that during one chirstmas break, was broken into 2 if not more times while everyone was away.  i haven't heard any stories like that from loras or dubuque from the friends i have that attened either school

changing gears.  with so much talent graduating this year: TeKippe, Suckow, Sherden, Jackson, Connell, and Schuring just to name a few.(no disrespect to anyone else graduating) Who is everyone most excited to see come back next year?

First of all, none of the jokes are original. So the joke-tellers are a) jealous b) misinformed and c) lacking in creativity. Coe's academic reputation rivals any in the IIAC, and is superior to most. In fact, that's the last true remaining rivalry between Coe and Cornell. The "ghetto" allegations make me laugh. First of all, Coe is taking all appropriate measures to ensure the safety of students. Secondly, it is a great advantage that Coe is located in the heart of a metropolitan area, unlike any other school in the conference (and, yes, I include Dubuque and Loras in the equation).

Apples and oranges.  Prepare for rebuttles from every schools supporters now about the advantage of attending the school of their preference.

That is a great question.  There are a lot of skill position players graduating this year.  I'm maybe not so much excited for players coming back as curious how the new guys filling big shoes will do.  And just who those guys will end up being.

Jordan Wilkens.
Tate Harrison.
Tommy Breitbach.
Calvin Thomas.
Kyle Brockmeyer.
And that's just on defense!

I'm interested in seeing Travis Dietz come back from Simpson, Tommy Breitbach and Jordan Wilkens from coe.  I saw Dietz in high school and he's a competitor.  He always give his best.  Wilkens is a great DE.  Teams are going to have to plan around him every week next year.  Breitbach there isn't much to say just let the stats speak for themselves.  His first year of playing both ways, with another year of offensive experience he will only get better also
