Coe sucks, swallows and nearly chokes.   ;)

With 9 minutes remaining in the 4th quarter and a 6-3 Ram lead, I am getting game updates from PH Jr.'s GF.  I am coaching PH III in his own game and between calling Spread Left Option Left, and I dare to dream...

Will they do it?  Can they do it?

Alas, no, not this day...but IT'S RIGHT THERE.

Congrats to the KoChickens for 60 minutes of football.

Congrats to Cornell for their best 51 consecutive minutes of football...best and longest stretch of the year.  9 minutes more and W's will surely start appearing...truly a positive note to close on given the previous few weeks.  A lot of good things to build upon...some things to correct (TG for Spring Football)...some things to forget.

Congrats to the Ram Seniors for competing to the last...we're proud of you guys.  Kudos to Krogmann on a great senior year....Captain Gus, words cannot describe the respect I have for you and the effort you bring every weekend.  The rest of you guys, JY, Shane, Kobler, Nick C., J-Day, Heath, SMurray, and the rest of the seniors...thanks, you've conducted yourselves with class and respect, you are all fine young men.

Congrats to the Coaches on getting the effort out of the kids even when things took a downturn.

Congrats to the boys in the corner dorm room with the messy floor and the broken futon.  Serbian Sackmeister and PH Jr.: Great day for both you guys...Andyman, next year is yours to battle for your spot and get your minutes with your rooomates...set the stage to wreak some havoc on the IIAC for 2 more years.  Get well quick to Mikey T the FB, baseball starts soon.

You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

Luck of the Dutch???  Why does that guy keep saying that?  Sounds like a poor sport to me.  When you win 29, yes, 29 Iowa conference titles and finish no worse than 2nd in 27 of the last 28 seasons, that would be a solid program, not luck.  Have you ever noticed that the better you are the luckier you are?

DutchFan2004

doolittle,

I hope you had a great day.  Was a fun but stressful one at WH today.  I hope the kids are on the mend.  No fun to have sick ones, but as you said kids bounce back fast.

Coe did not come to play today and Cornell did. Kudos to them for that. Fortunately, superior talent overcame sheer will. I have to give the Rams some credit. That first half was the worst I've ever seen Coe play. Cornell might have had something to do with that. Day was a one-man wrecking crew and Macey looks like a solid football player. But in the end, the oldest football rivalry west of the Mississippi goes to the Kohawks for the eighth straight year. Another stellar performance by Tommy Breitbach. If he's not all-conference, at least, it's a crime.

Congrats to the Spartans on finishing out the season with a big win over a very talented and underestimated Norse team. I would like to note that the 7-3 finish was the best record the Spartans have had since 1980 I believe. Congrats to the coaches and all of the seniors. This group will be missed. They will go down in history as the group that helped return the Spartans to respectability in the IIAC again. I have no doubt that this is just the beginning of great things to come. The new stadium is starting to take shape and WOW, is it impressive. Wins along with top notch academic programs and facilities will no doubt help recruiting!

Congrats to the Dutch on the IIAC title. Represent us well in the playoffs.

you'd think with all the winning central has done over the years their fans would be a little more respectful.  there were obviously questionable calls and people have voiced their opinions.  no excuses, plays had to be made and central made them.  no need to talk smack about the players.  congrats on your victory and good luck in the playoffs.

Wow great game at Walston Hoover, congrats to all who contributed on both sides of the ball.

The game really swung on those two big plays, but not the ones you guys are talking about.  4th and 4 WB around the Dutch 20, Dutch up 14-7 Yodi does a great job scrambling and lofts a pass, but defended by the Dutch.  ABout 10 min later 4th and 4 Dutch on the WB 35 score tied, Connell finds Cody Willie for a first down at the 18, leading to the Dutch winning FG.

BTW, the best rushing D for the day was wearing the white jerseys.

Ah yes...peace in the galaxy is restored...finally.

Thanks for the props to the 90s crowds.  I was probably partly responsible for that (and yes, Pakk actually has the greatest last name EVER).  If I can manage a flight back to Pella next weekend...I'll be there...green wooden shoes and all (Central...I'll have something free for you in the endzone...go team go!).

Central fans...for a laugh...go back to page 599, and read davedevine's posts.  It's like that episode of the Simpson's when Ralph Wiggum learns that Lisa isn't his girlfriend.  You can actually read his heart breaking.  Classic.

Congrats to Central for once again...carrying the proverbial torch of our alma mater.  We ARE proud...and ready for you to take us all even further.  Carry us Central!  We know that you can do it.

Coach Skip smiled today...you could just feel it.

Somebody explain to me about this suckow kid.  He was at Coe and transfered to Wartburg for his senior season?  I don't get it.  This is d3 football, it's not like he was trying to set himself up for the nfl or something.  Was he unhappy at coe, and if so, how come???  I played 4 years at Central in the early 90's and my best friends to this day were my teammates.  There is no way possible I would have left my friends and teammates my senior season.  I don't understand this thinking.  Can somebody shed some light on this for me??

Judas H Priest, all this good football to show and Channel 8 spends two valuable minutes interviewing bowl representatives and chances for a mediocre at best Hawkeye squad.  we know the formula, beat 6 patsies and keep the bumblees spending $ and you get to go bowling.

On the two "questionable" calls at the end of the game, the PI, IMHO was legit, Weber obviosuly reached out and impedded the recevers path to the ball.  Catchable?  judgement of the stripes on the field, don't know why they talked to Koehler so much about a judgement, I thought you only got a conference on a rules interpretation.  As was posted earlier the refs aren't going to make a call they are not sure of this late in a tight game, how often have we seen them swallow the whistles in plays like that?

The spike/fumble by Connell, from our side of the field, which was his right, throwing hand, we could clearly see both hands in contact with the ball and moving forward/down for the spike.  when did he have posession and when did he not - good question, very close, but the opinion by the guys in stripes is the only one that matters.  At worst a fumble call leads to OT, and the Dutch have won thier last 5 straight and at this point in the game were playing better O than the Knights.
