Old Dutch

Now, congrats to Central. They were not the better team, they just played better when it counted. I hope they reverse their playoff history and make a huge run.

btw - if thats true Koehler ought to be fired, to allow a team to suffer two losses to inferior teams this year should be inexcusable.  I'm sure Central and DBQ were not as good as the 'Burger's last year either. ::)

Also, Whomever is saying Connell is not the MVP - you never responded with your choice and some form of logic for it . . . . . .

Go Dutch!  Beat Olivet!

Its ok, footballdaddy obviously has minimal understanding of the game. The team that is better usually loses. That is why they play the games right? Give me a break and admit that Central has been the cream of the crop in the IIAC the last 3 years especially, not to mention the last 40 some years and many more to come!

Airborne-no big deal about the shirts, a roommate of mine just saw the post and wanted his credit haha. Take care of yourself over there and enjoy your time back home when you get here.

Wartburg fans need to be realistic here, you got beat...again. The officiating arguments need to stop. Your over-hyped defense couldn't make a stop when you needed it most and once again the Dutch win a close game, great teams do that. No luck needed.

I don't know how you could say that Connell doesn't deserve the MVP. The kid just wins games. He did it in high school and obviously now in college. He's a competitor and has led this team to it's 3rd conf. title with him at QB. Not much argument there if you ask me.

Central needs to come out and take care of business on Saturday. The only opponent that matters now is Olivet. The seniors on this team deserve a great run in the postseason but it starts with round 1 and that is all that matters at this point.

Did we come out healthy from WB? I know at this point in the year a lot of people are dinged up but will we be at full strength for the playoffs?

Wartburg, ask Jim Mora about the playoffs...   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dDjG9XlsHqQ

Congrats to the victors on Saturday and a big congratulations to Central for winning the IIAC title (again).  From here on out, I will be cheering hard for the wooden-shoed warriors as they are the only IIAC team in the playoffs.

I caught the selection show on ESPNU yesterday and I agree with the wise Pat Coleman in the snubbing of Wartburg.  They should have been in the field, but that is what happens when you lose a game you shouldn't against an average Augsburg team.  You put your fate into the hands of others and it comes back to bite you.

Finally, farewell to the seniors...I had to deal with many tears on Saturday as the Curie Condors lost to the Hubbard Greyhounds, and I am sure there were tears for many of the seniors on Saturday.  It is always tough playing your last game, especially when you know that it is your last.
Go Norse!!!

Alright folks...Congrats to all the winners on saturday and it was another fun season of following IIAC football.

To the BV boys.  Hit the weights hard and stay together as a team.  Good things can come next year and build off what this senior class gave you.  Underclassman its time to step up and lead this offseason.  The 2008 season starts today.  So take care of your injuries, schedule  your surgries eary if needed and Good Luck!

Now all I have to say to the Central people is go get the region.  Congrats on the number one seed...Now do something with it.   Losing to Olivet next week, would leave a life sized skid mark on the IIAC.  I have seen special teams in my day.  One of the best I saw was the year Wartburg went out to Linfield and threw 5 picks and still almost won the game.

I hope you get a show down with UWW to see how the IIAC matches up with the WIAC.

Interesting side note: Bethel vs. Concordia (WI) first round - both of Simpson's non-conference games. I was at the Concordia game (first game of the season) and was not impressed at all. Simpson controlled the entire game. The next week Simpson was dismantled by Bethel. It was ugly. Yes, both games were early in the season, but it shouldn't be much of a game.

As far as the better team reference is going, would Central like to play Wartburg again? Best of three? Three of five? I'll  agree Central was the better team Saturday, but could they consistenly recreate that effort?

I guess the Dutch supporters are suffering from a lack of oxygen, being all high and mighty as they are. If they continue their "dynasty" of playoff performances, they will all enjoy a nice Thanksgiving turkey at home instead of practicing for a second round game.

FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Central won, wartburg lost.  That's it.  If if's and but's were candy and nuts we'd all have a merry christmas.  Let it go wartburg fans.

Good luck Central in the playoffs.

Way to support the conference now that it is playoff time.
I'm so happy 'cause today I found my friends. They're in my head.  I'm so ugly, that's okay, 'cause so are you!

Congrats to both Central and Wartburg for a well-played game on Saturday. It was a hell of a game, start to finish. I know that I wasn't the only Dutch fan worried at halftime. Wartburg is tough -- probably the toughest team NOT in the playoffs.

Which, by the way, the classy thing to do (Dutch fans...) would be to accept that -- this game kept them out of the playoffs, so of course they are having a gut check week. We don't need to rub their noses in it...we are better than that.

Focus on Olivet....the Dutch have the bracket. No pressure there...!!

Who the heck is Olivet, anyway?  ;D

Go Dutch!

Football buddy, wow!

3 out of 5, 5 out of 7.  Sorry, it does'nt work that way in football.  You get one shot and now you have to live with it.

coocooforcoekohawk

Why didn't you just take care of business and beat Augsburg, that is the real question.  In fact the whole conference should be pissed off at Wartburg for not representing the IIAC in non-conference play.

Beat Augsburg and you take UW-Eau Claire's spot.

So, why didn't you beat Augsburg and get two IIAC teams in the playoffs?

You let us all down WART!

FootballMommy-

I gave all the Wartburgers a free pass the day of the game and even the next, but let it go!  I would love to play Warburg again in Pella OR Waverly, I'll take a senior QB, who should be MVP of the conference, over the rocket screen and Wartburg's team.  Wartburg is a good team, but great teams don't lose 2 times at home to inferior teams.

I don't know why you hate Central, I'm sorry our President used words you didn't understand on your visit (he is a Dr. and a place of HIGHER education) or you didn't get a good vibe on campus or Central's coaches didn't get down and kiss your son's feet on his visit.  Did you celebrate the win at the Goat???  I was at Joe's and I've nevered heard sooo much whining, except from Missouri fans!

GO DUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally a Dutch fan with some class.  I wish Central all the luck in the playoffs
