See they now fear the Rams  They want nothing more to do with you guys Purple

Not only that, Alma is running in fear too.

I think they both dropped us for the upcoming year.

I hear MUC and UWW won't return our calls.

Davedevine,

I also think its the bend but don't break type of d that Central plays.  If the opponent is always starting from the 20 or farther they can gain 50 yards a drive and not even get to the red zone.  A team will average what 6-8 times a game with the ball.  If you take 50 yards a drive without scoring that is 300-400 yards a game.  Having said that we all know that Central didn't keep teams scoreless.  But that is how the yards can be given up.  The last two times the Knights and Dutch met the Knights had long fields to march for scores.  When they did not they scored.  Last year short field after a pick and then no other scores.  This year a fumble at the 3 and a score and then one scoring drive after that.  All the other yards were really meaningless wouldn't you say?  Right or wrong that has been serving the Dutch well in this run of victories.  The Dutch D just seems when to rise up and stop a team and stop their drives.  They don't seem to be worried about how many yards they give up from game to game.

Klopenhiemer - Grandview and DM Schools are funding the reconditioning/improving to the Stadium about 1 mile from G'view. - Williams Stadium, I think.

This was discusses in early August on this board.

Although 4-4 + 5-5 was about average for Hefty @ LC most alums in this area were hopeful/excited about Paul getting the football program closer to the top.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Coach Mac and his crew will have the men ready to roll Saturday. You can be sure last years defeat left a bitter taste in their mouth and they arent going to let Olivet ruin what they have worked so hard for. Coach Anderson has had the Dutch outworking everyone for 4 years now and its obviously paying off. Getting up before 6am during the season a couple times a week to lift and work out as well as the offseason workouts. They have earned their seed and everything this group has worked for, its time to go out and prove themselves on the national stage now. We only get stronger later in the game and later in the season. Just ask everyone weve beaten in the 4th quarter. There is no quit.

To borrow from our Linfield friends....LEAVE NO DOUBT!!

I can not leave this alone.

1.)  Every college football team is ready to play on a Saturday.  Its whether the players put the game plan into action and get the job done.
2.)  Give me a break on outworking everyone else for the last 4 years.  Are you telling me that the boys up at UD have been sitting on the couch.
3.)  I havent been a part of any college football team that doesnt get up twice a week at 6am or before.  I also have never seen a team that wasnt up atleast twice a week at 6am in the offseason either.

Dutch you got a good squad that is having a special season.  Do not infect us with the high and mighty syndrome.

Alfred...Thanks...I must have missed this.  Williams Stadium is deffinatly in need of a face lift but has the capacity to hold some big crowds.  Do you know if next year will be a JV season or are they jumping right into varsity.  Also should I assume they will be playing in the same conference as St. Ambrose and IA Weslyn?

Just an opinion...get off it. Just because I say somethinng doesnt mean you have to rebuke it so calm down. It wasnt a shot at any IIAC team, Coach Anderson's mantra was that we were going to out work everyone else year round and I wouldnt be surprised if we did. Not making any concrete claims because no one on here can in that department.

dave - wasnt saying that you said it was unstoppable, just the way you said "uh oh, look whos back...Mr rocketscreen" made it sound like it. I know it was used for the 3 yard TD because the Knights couldnt come straight at us from4 yards out.

Im done with Wartburg, you guys can be bitter about whatever I have said but I believe Wartburg is a good team, just not as good as us lately.

On to Olivet.

It shouldn't be surprising though Walston...it sounds like Hefty was well liked throughout the conference.  Luther is going to miss him.  Hopefully, the new head coach will be a guy as well liked and respected as Hefty.

On to Olivet...does anybody know much about them?

I'm kind of hoping they can find the J. Brad Pole type. As much as that guy creeped me out, he was great for Wartburg.

Brad Pole was great for everyone EXCEPT Luther....I don't think Wartburg needs anymore help to beat Luther from a bad coach.  Knights have had some success against the Norse in recent years, in case you forgot  ;)

Coach Hefty will definitely be missed -- he was a fantastic guy, both on and off the field. He's a class act all the way around.

Any thoughts on his replacement?

On to Thanksgiving dinner for the other IIAC football teams ;D
