Just want to stop the football talk for a minute and say congrats to Kyle Duchman for making Academic First-Team all District for Football. Isn't this whats it really all about.

Duch is a great kid.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Absolutely, this is what it's all about...but now I'm confused b/c I thought we were leaving the kids out of the discussion.  See below........

Please leave are Kids out of this.

Tommy Breitbach was also a first-team All-District honoree and has a strong case for Academic All-American.

Congrats to the Academic All-Stars and congrats to Jackson...that game against the Norse should help him in his MVP chase.

I think Connell, Jackson and Sherden all had great seasons.  All of them made a good case for MVP.

I wonder if we might see a split of the vote.  Connell get MVP and Jackson get 1st team IIAC QB.  Or maybe go the other way.  Connell get 1st team IIAC QB and Jackson get IIAC MVP???

DutchFan2004

Doolittle,

That might be a civil way to do it but frankly that would not make a whole lot of sense IMO.  You would have a second team IIAC player be MVP?  I don't see that happening.

Yeah, I've been drinking too much coffee at work today.  That doesn't make any sense.  How about we give the MVP to either Sherden or Jackson so we can watch youcantseeme go absolutely nuts on here ;D

I kid, I kid

I think MVP comes down to Connell and Sherden.  I think Sherden made a very goood case for himself this season, Does MVP come down to who was most important to his team ? If so I believe Sherden get MVP. Not that Connell didn't have a great season. But I don't believe Luther wins 5 game without Sherden and Central still wins alot of games without Connell. I really don't kown what they(who ever picks) look for. I'm not trying to make anyone mad, this is how I would chose MVP.

doolittledog

Uh oh, here we go with everybody chiming in for their favorite player.

I think Luther would be close to 5-5 with or without Sherden.  If you listen to all the dynasty talk from Central then that must mean it doesn't matter who is playing QB for them...they go 10-0 no matter who you throw in there ;D  Without Jackson I don't think you see UD go from an 0-10 team to a 7-3 team over the last 5 years.  But that is just me drinking the spartan cool-aid!!!
