I have one for you history buffs. Stavast will undoutably get his fourth all- conference selection. I checked the Norse history, and he will be the first. How about the other schools, any four time selections?

1st team all-conference all four years is an outstanding career!  Congrats as well to Suckow for making 1st team as a sophomore and 2nd team his other three years.  He had a great career as well.

Congrats to Stavast,  that truly is an award that is great.  To make it all four years as an olineman says a lot.  One to have the body for it coming out of HS and 2 to be able to use it affectively when a freshman says a lot about the kind of player he was.

Congrats to Connell for MVP and to the rest for making all-conference

Congrats to Connell and Coach Mac again. Well deserved honors. Congratulations with the rest of the grouping of players as well. I think they all were well deserved and showed how balanced our league has become. I was happy with the group of Central guys although Mulder being 2nd team threw me for a loop.

Trevor Shannon - I remember watching him at Wartburg a while back, I was quite a bit younger and probably there to watch the Dutch but that name stuck out in my mind.

What about multi-sport all-conference selections?

I know that Mark Giesmann was not only an Academic All-American for football, he was also a 1st team all-conference tennis player and 2nd-team all conference punter for WB.

Anyone else like to comment towards this?  This might take even more digging to find a multi-sport all-conference athlete.  Track & cross-country doubles, while amazing, should be left out as those are much more common.

....sportsknight,

I had a reply but decided not to send it.  Just to ask the question:  What is the jock culture on your campus?  I can't imagine that your faculty would be very proud of it.

After years of dealing with homophobia both incipient and blatant ... when someone proclaims what they're not ... it always makes me thank that they are.

Sorry ... that should be "think" ... not thank.  Where is the spell lcheck when you need it?

Spell check wouldn't have caught that.  The wrong word was spelled correctly ;)

I say we suspend sportsknight for one day from making any posts mentioning Cornell :D

Coach Mac won three years in a row.  That has only happened one other time in the IIAC and that was for Ron Schipper.  That is some pretty good company.

Simpson has had 2 in recent years.  Dusty Kain was 5 time All-Conf in football (3-1st team WR and 2-2nd team Kick Returner) and 2 times All-Conf in Baseball.  Mike Donnenwerth was also multiple all-conf in those same 2 sports.
