Its hardly locker room material, but MIAC fans are already predicting a Bethel-SJU matchup on Dec.1 They aren't wasting anytime.

I notice how you say "MIAC fans".  You must say such because, as has already been pointed out on the MIAC PP, the people doing such predicting aren't Johnnies.  It's BU backers.  You won't have to shade the truth at all to get plenty of smack talk.  We'll bring it straight to you and you'll pretty much know.

We Johnnies are looking forward to beating Central like red-headed step children and will be able to spend all week thinking about this coming contest.  You won't find any Johnnies looking past this coming Saturday.  We would miss the fun.

OZ im in the group on this board who could careless if Central ever wins another game for the rest of their football history.

After reading your post my friend you are completely ridiculas, and I am going to jump on the Dutch train ride it through the playoffs.

I hope when you come down to Pella they hang 45 on you and send you back to the northwoods wondering if you were just hit by a bus or a train.

Caaannnn hhhaarddly ttttttype.  Ssshhhhhaking wwwith fffffearrr.  Moppenheimlich has jumped on the Dutch bandwagon.  If I can convince anyone else to climb on board, then all the better.  You all make sure to fasten your seatbelts.  It's gonna hurt when the wheels come off in seven days time.

I'm reminded of a movie that is slightly older.  It's about a bunch of Brits at Sevastopol who think they can beat the Russians with the same horses, same riders, same tactics as the last time they lost to the Russians.  They lose again, only worse, the second time.

So if you beat the Dutch and Bethel wins, I will jump on the Bethel bandwagoon and repeate what you wrote above.  In the words of the Miller High Life Man" nice wrench work cheif"!

Speaking of marketing.  That is something I think the IIAC really needs to do to get the IIAC in the minds of the state.  The Waterloo Courier does a decent job of reporting on Wartburg, Luther, and Upper Iowa being the closest schools to them.  The Dubuque Telegraph-Herald does a good job of covering Loras and UD.  But I haven't noticed the Cedar Rapids Gazette doing any reporting on Coe and Cornell.  I didn't notice much from the Des Moines Register covering the IIAC.  It's nice the coverage the state schools get and they should get a lot of coverage, but I don't think it would be asking too much to put in an IIAC page in on the sunday paper and their websites.  Even if it just ends up being a writer calling up the school SID and having him send something into the paper.

I would think if the IIAC office starting calling or visiting media outlets in the state and started pushing for some more coverage we would see more coverage of our conference and that would translate into increased enrollments, attendance at games and more money into the schools.

Doolittle...Deffinatly on board with on this one.  The only thing I ever used the Des Moines register for was to take with me on fishing trips.  These were trips to the bush with little access to indoor plumbing.

You have a great conferenc with great schools and all they give the IIAC is a few blurbs and some standing.  They are to busy calling Drew Tate in Canada for an interview and spinning 3 stories off it 3 differnt ways.  Maybe the Register could start a weekly page on Sundays highlighting all the IIAC games, statistics, players of the week, upcoming games of the week to watch/games period, players to watch, ect.  This might shed some positive light on the IIAC in young peoples minds IMO.

Congrats to the Dutch today.  Please beat on St. John's and keep your season rolling.  I am deffinatly supporting your squad and hope that you can make it to the next round.

Not knowing the MIAC boards as well as I know the IIAC board, I don't really know who supports who unless its blatantly obvious.

We MIAC and Johnnie posters hope Bethel loses.

The boogie man is coming...

Really?  You don't want to give us the chance to make it three in a row against you guys? ;D

Here's what I mean about looking past this week.  It's not the Johnnies doing it...

Seriously, for this weekend, my thoughts are that there are two things in this world I can't stand.  People who are intolerant of other people's cultures.... and the Dutch.

After watching the game today its too bad that Wartburg was at home this weekend.  Nothing against Olivet.  They won their conference and thats all you have to do to make the playoffs but there are way better teams out there that are home.  I did think the crowd they brought was excellent.  Very loud for the numbers the brought, tailgated and had a good time.  .

Good luck stopping 2 IIAC MVP's and all 15 different recieving threats.  Bring a big crowd.  Have a good time.  Bring your A game because these red heads are ready.

Doesn't matter if the team from Waverly was in the bracket as the IIAC has already proven they can't compete on a national level.  Your number 1 seed was a gift for crawling through your conference schedule.

Telling us to bring a big crowd... pleeassee, check in more than once a season... nobody, and I mean nobody travels better than SJU.  The only victory you'll know is having the comfort we're all crying about a 4 hour trip Saturday morning.

KCDutch,

Yes There was time to throw this Saturday.  There was some holes to run through as well.  The line did a decent job today and gave our QB enough time to make his reads and throws.  Well are you and Grandpa KC coming this Saturday?

I agree with KlopenHiemer, I could care less if Central won other came. But let me tell you that you better pack a lunch cause Central will fight you to the end and they know how to win the fight.

If I need to, I can go over and remind our Bethel buddies who tripped them up to hand them their only loss. ;)

+k for the thought.  I like the thought and I think you should...however, there aren't many of these "Bethel buddies" around on PP.    ;)

I'm just telling you to bring it.  No excuses.  Too bad SJU couldn't "crawl through a schedule"  If you didn't use your Johnnie Magic against St Olaf you would be staying home enjoying your weekend....

Voice of the Dutch

Pot calling the kettle black, Dusty?

Funny that Central "crawls through a schedule", when St. John's not only loses a game, but also has to hold off St. Olaf to win by 1 and score 10 in the fourth quarter to beat a 3-7 Carelton team by 3.

Everyone has close games - have you watched any DI football this year Dusty?  The key is, Central has won ALL of theirs.  Not too many 11-0 teams anywhere in college football.

As for the game - there are a couple of VERY important things that Central will need to do Saturday that it couldn't do last year.

1 - Get off the field.  The Johnnies were an amazing 4-6 on fourth down last year and controlled the clock.

2 - Not turn the ball over.  The Dutch took incredible care of the football last year, but turned the ball over twice against the Johnnies.

3 - Protect Connell.  He was sacked four times in last years game.

4 - Throw the ball better.  Only 120-ish yards and NO touchdowns for Connell.  He's averaging 240+ and almost 3 TDs a game this year.  It's obvious to people who've followed the Dutch this year, but this is THE biggest improvement in Central from last year to this year.  If our run game is shut down, Connell and the receivers can single handedly win a game.

Same coach, same quarterback, same running back.  And I'm glad they're all here.  You're right Johnnie fans, it's the same Central team - just a much improved version.

Johnnie Red

I am going to assume that it will be alright to host the Stiftungsfestivities tailgate party in the parking lot by the stadium once again this Saturday when the Johnnies make the trip to Pella. If not, please let me know. Okay to have adult beverages in red cups?

If I get down to Pella on Friday, any suggestions on "hot spots" to frequent in Pella Friday night? Will definitely be making a trip to Jaarsma's Bakery Saturday morning for the Dutch letters.
