Naturally St Johns will be back next year, and the year after, and forever. With so many conference foes so deeply planted in abyss, you start every season three wins shy of being playoff eligible.

Thunderbolt...do you have any working knowledge of the MIAC?  We just dispatched a team that would have had trouble finishing in the top 4 of our conference...last year's Central team was good, but I am not sure you could have beaten Bethel or St. Olaf which would have put you 4th in our league...and didn't AUGSBURG beat your runner up?  Our lesser programs are getting better...Hamline beat the Tommies and Carleton gave the J's a real battle and I am not sure anyone wanted to play Concordia at the end of the year...so kindly be quiet about things you have no knowledge of.

VOJ  Ya Augsburg beat our runner up.  BV beat your Champ.  As said on here before BV=MIAC CHAMPS.

VOJ...Do you have any working knowlege of the IIAC.  If so spout something out so that we can atleast stand to read what you write and not pass it ove like a dead deer on the side of the road.

I know this...the IIAC has been a non-factor in the West since 2000

Dutch Fan...that was week one...are you saying that teams don't get better or worse over the course of the season?  Augsburg got better throughout the season and so did Bethel...did BV?

DutchFan2004

what does that have to do with the BV game.  There are no do overs are there?  They had their chance at our middle of the road team.  Use the same arguement for Wartburg your logic does not compute.  You can not accept or explain away that BV=MIAC Champ.

Wartburg lost in the middle of the season so was Wartburg better after I would assume so.  Got any other softballs to hit out of the park.  VOJ you logic is very WEAK

BV=MIAC CHAMPS

hey since everyone likes to talk about teams that are not St John's or Central and that really don't matter this weekend.  How about this one....Hawks beat the Gophers.... Iowa is better

Bottomline is what matters is what you do in the playoffs.  Win all the conference titles and rivalry games you want, but a team's greatness is determined by their success or lackthereof in the playoffs.

the bottomline I would agree with.  you have two walnut and bronze trophies we have one.

The real bottom line is what happens this Saturday all the trophies in the world all the playoff wins in the past have nothing to do with this Saturday new teams as both teams have replaced players from last year.  We will have to wait and see what happens won't we.

do the 2 NAIA championships in '63 and '65 count?

being fairly new to D3 I have no opinion to the NAIA champs I am sure that it is just as coveted as the walnut and bronze and a great accomplishment but that being said how does that impact Saturday? Both of these teams have not gotten the the final four in the last three years the prestige of the trophies is in the past and can not help the teams this Saturday.

I'd be a pretty proud papa too if my kid was conference MVP and set every record QB's could have at the school with the most wins in his state.  My boys are only 3 and 1 but would be a great ride to watch a career like his.  Here is bragging for him....Central has finally figured out what a "forward pass" is this year.  He is the difference 35-28 Dutch... Central will be down something like 21-7 at half same as always.  SJU will lead yardage 500-340.  Same as always.  TOP 35-25.  First downs 37-23.

Here's to watching a good game.  Havin a good time before and after.
