QuoteMy prediction (as I'll likely be away from an internet connection until after the game on Saturday)...

Dutch 13 - SJU 10.

The johns just love to see this stuff. They saw it just last week from their new, best friends the Redlands Bulldogs (who sit on their board like a jilted lover, wondering where the guys that gave them so much attention and affection just a short time ago, have gone).
It's time for Central to break the mold and go beyond again. But then there's Gagliardi and his staff who have been preparing for them for 3 weeks now. That presents a big problem if a team does not play near flawless ball and take advantage of any little chink Kofed might present.

BTW - are you going to fine tune it for johnniefootball.com???

Of course.  As always, my preview will go up Wednesday with a prediction Friday night or Saturday morning. ;D
I will make a precition now.  I predict that DuffMan's prediction will be wrong whether he makes it Friday night or Saturday morning.

As I've sifted through the pages of posts from our MIAC posters, I just sit back and wonder whether they understand what they type without the "ehs" and "oohs".  For example...

TDT - "Hows aboot we's drink some of dem dere Hamms after de game, eh?"
DuffMan - "Sounds pert good, doon't cha knoow, eh."

Even though you all don't post like that, when you read the posts, do they sound like that in your head?

That's how they're being read in my head, but being Norwegian, most of the stuff I read goes into my head like that.

What's the best thing to come out of Minnesota in the last 25 years?
I 35
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Oh no!  I hope we aren't going to have to go through an exchange of all of those trite old rivalry insults.  Even done in dialect grazing cheerleaders, upper level students changing light bulbs, and St Johns grads putting there diplomas on the dash boards of their cars so they can park in handicapped spots aren't funny anymore.

On the other hand, a good Sven and Ollie joke is always fun.

Agreed. Unfortunately, St. Olaf's season was done a few weeks ago  :D
Nice day, huh?

St. John's has won ten straight games against the IIAC over the last 20 years, all playoff games.  At some point the streak has to be broken. Is it this year?  In my opinion the fate of the Johnnies rests on Kofed's shoulders.  If he throws the ball well (sets up) and  is relatively mistake and  turnover free I think the Johnnies win easily 35 -14.  Kofed to me is two difference quarterbacks.  When he has good mechanics he does well.  If he tries to do too much and gets sloppy on his throws, (which he has a tendency to do) he will give away field position and points and  it will be a close game.     The  Johnnie  D is always tough in the post season especially in the red zone and will keep the game close.

Has anyone heard names for the Simpson or Luther job?
For Simpson, the RUMORS I've heard are Swenson (Valley) and Marv Cook, but these ARE just rumors I've heard.

So... no matter what, this game is in the control of SJU.  Now that is what WE like to hear in Iowa.  From the sounds of it, it might be the Johnnie fans who are going in overconfident.  DF1... maybe take them a few letters from Jaarsma to console them after the game.  Go IIAC!
