Well, that should be the last of the smug attitude in here from the Johnies.

Long ride back to the port of Johnnies tonight.    :D

Forget Monkey Stomp, that was a Baboon Beating, an Orangatang hang, a Gorilla killa!!!!

WAY TO GO DUTCH!

OH HELL YEAH!!!!  I have been waiting to do this since I saw the final score from Saturday (and I was so excited when I saw it that I started cursing at the tv).  I am going to enjoy this post....

First, good riddance to all of the invaders from the North.  Thanks for coming by and blowing all of that hot air about how great your Johnnies were, how much better the MIAC was, how the Johnnies beat Central last year, and blah blah blah.  There were a lot of people talking smack and now they don't have anything to say except to congratulate the Dutch.  DEVELOPED.

Second, congrats to Central for a dominating performance on Saturday.  I would definitely qualify that performance as a "monkey stomp"   ;)  Keep those wooden shoes marching on toward the Stagg Bowl.  Way to represent yourselves and the rest of the IIAC.

Third, Connell for MVP of the World  :)

Fourth, History is history and games aren't played on paper.  Central proved that on Saturday.  The Johnnies had beaten Central multiple times in the past, including last years playoff loss.  The Johnnies were probably the better team statistically and the better team on paper.  People can say whatever they want to about Central and that they are "lucky".  Doesn't matter.  Good teams WIN BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY.  And I think that is the best way to describe Central this year.  Low-scoring, defensive battles or high-scoring, offensive explosions.  The Dutch can win any type of game they are forced to play.

Congratulations Central.  Hopefully, the Dutch can take the energy and confidence from the SJU victory and use it on Saturday to take down Bethel.

This board will be much more tolerable and enjoyable without all of the SJU propaganda on the board  ;)

Go Norse!!!

PS... DF1, great quotes.  Making the other team eat crow is ALWAYS sweet... and making the over-confident fans eat crow is EVEN sweeter!!!

Yeah, I typically hate to be "that person" but the Johnnies somehow bring out the best in me....

Question. If we win next week, and Mt Union wins, do we play them in the semis?

IF we get past Bethel, chances are good that we will see Mt. Union next. We have a whole week to prepare for Bethel first, though.... the Dutch can't overlook the Royals at all.

One game at a time.  ;D

I'm not overlooking anything.  ;D I was just wondering! LOL

WOW!  Now that is hostility.

We're good people.  Sure, we talk a lot of smack, but if you'd meet us in person, the majority of us are very humble, and we'd be the first to offer you a burger and a beer.  We're just passionate about our team and like to spice things up.  All of us knew that we would have been very lucky to beat the Dutch, and things didn't fall into place.  And now you blast us for offering sincere congratulations?

I like the Dutch versus Bethel this weekend.  Bethel is solid, but a pretty much one-dimensional team.  As long as the Dutch don't suffer a let-down, they'll win.  MUC, now that is a different story :-\

Can anyone tell me the web site that I can listen to CENTRAL beating the jonnies game.

Can anyone tell me where the Central representative is for the Gagliardi Trophy?  I keep looking and can't find it...

DF1  this was the post that I was talking about?  The Johnnie fans were the first to bring that topic up about the Gagliardi Trophy.  We saw their candidate and he did not out perform a team with no one nominated was my point.  You are correct about there being other things involved with the award than just being a good football player.  I am sure that Mr Kofoed is a fine young man and deserving of the award.  The trash talking was what I was countering.

Duffman,

I don't believe we have met but I agree with your assessment.  The Johnnie posters are good people.  I have met a lot of you and your type ;D and you are indeed good people.  The one thing that the priests at SJU forgot to teach you guys is humility  ;D.  Sorry you couldn't be in Pella for the game and missed out on the baked goods.

Major props to the Dutch! Keep it up!

I keep trying to get on the bandwagn, but I keep getting booted off! Maybe they'll let me hook my own little trailer on to it! ;D

GO DUTCH!!!!!!!!

Long live the Evil Empire!

I second Duff...I came in congratulated you and praised your D and QB...and I get dinged by you guys in the karma department, yes Johnnies fans talk alot of smack, but it was great fun reading the posts last week, enjoy the spoils Dutch fans, but don't act like spoiled brats...

I also think that the Dutch have a good chance, but I wonder how the Dutch rush D will stand up to the pounding that Bethel likes to deliver...against SJU the running game was not a factor due to the score and the way the J's like to play...I hope its a great game on Saturday

DutchFan2004

Mr Shoes,

Well from the posts before the game you were not very humble.  But I can say after the game you all have been most gracious you really have.  It is kind of hard not to bring up the past quotes from all of the MIAC posters about the upcoming (now past game).

DF1 did a nice job of some of the past quotes being brought up but there were a few that I thought she missed.

There are no better football fans that SJU's they are loyal and true fanatics about their team.  You have to love and respect them for that.  I am sure that going to Cville is a great time.  I kind of regret not getting to experience it.  Maybe in the future when time permits I will take in a game up there for fun.  I know I will have to get something to do after this year.  I know I will continue to go to the Dutch games but maybe I will go experience a home Stiftungfest to see how the tailgate masters do it.
