Trust Duff's analysis on Bethel. He usually nails it (OK he was off about a certain outcome Saturday... as was I.)

What's the weather for Saturday? I'm sure bethel wants a grind-it-out game.

Lots of ball to be played but if you make it to Salem, I'll be the guy in the red hoody ... it just won't say Central.

Shoes,
What happened to Hank Biesot's Dickie State Savages Blue Hawks? They are often in the naia mix but they were horrible.

Haven't a clue. My parents moved to Dickieville the summer after I graduated H.S., so I've got little to no interest in DSU sports. Growing up near Minot, we always heard when the Blue Hawks pounded the Beavers (which was nearly every year), but that's about all I know. With a father from MN and a mother from MI, ND small-college sports didn't rank too highly on our list ;)

Edit to make this post relevant to the IIAC: Bethel is going to pound the hell out of the football, as you know. As much as I dislike them, I must admit that Johnson's ability to transform his team from the Air Coryell teams of the early '00s to the current WIAC-style play and still remain competitive is rather impressive. Central will have their hands full with Flannery and Wetzel, but I think the red will come out on top. The way you threw the ball on us bodes well, as that's Bethel's soft spot on D (I still can't figure out how we didn't exploit that better).
Nice day, huh?

A little present for all of you "gloaters"  ;)

Not great video but enjoy it for what it's worth.

You can probably blame the cross-border invasion from the north for prompting them to be ungracious in victory ... just a thought.

If the ungracious posters are 12 or younger that logic is acceptable.

For grown men and women the greatest revenge is the victory.  Stooping to the level of those you criticize is imature and hypocritical.

Hypocritical would be to tell someone not to gloat and then to gloat themselves.

I don't recall anyone telling anyone else not to talk trash...you just have to be able to handle the backlash that comes when you talk trash and your team gets destroyed.

It was fun pointing out the Johnnies pre-game posts being completely off base, after that I wouldnt like to consider myself gloating. It was a great game and its Monday so time to focus on dropping another MIAC foe. On to Bethel, if they are one-dimensional as you say I have confidence in the Dutch stopping the run and since we have the ability to both run and throw I would give us an advantage in that department, throw special teams in and its all good. Bethel will have to play mistake free football, every error they make will kill them.

Johnnie Fans. We IIAC fans can be pretty fiery whens it comes to out teams. Sorry if we didn't come off as gracious. Had all the electricity gone out in Iowa and we had a day or two to let the win sink in, I think you would have seen a different reaction. Anyway, I wish I could have been their to accept your offer of a burger and a beer. Less than a month until I can experience that again. Appreciate any insight that you guys can give on the Bethel team.

What do you think we were going to say when all week the IIAC board was filled with the Johnnies telling us that we had no chance? I had those very thoughts going through my head as we started to pour it on Saturday. That's just how it works, both sides exchange a little trash talking leading up to the game (probably more coming from the Johnnies last week) and following the game the supporters of the winning team return the favor.

Touchdown Tommy

Big ups to Central for that thorough beatdown handed out on Saturday in Pella.  Man-o-live rarely do the Johnnies get thrown around like ragdolls and then Stomped on.  You have much to be proud of for a convincing and dominate win.  TDT is on the Central bandwagon now.

I haven't read all the banter since the game here on the IIAC page.  I'll go back to the Personal Reflection Room and report back later.  Cheers.

repete ... weather.com  predicts Saturday in Pella will have a high of 32 and snow showers ... but a lot can change before Satuday.

The Central Bandwagon is getting bigger and bigger...any more Johnnies jumping on board?  The more the better... :)  They already have all of the support in the IIAC.
Go Norse!!!

TDT, I heard you were spotted in Woody's (in Pella) on Friday night.... I haven't been there in a year or so....do they serve Hamm's? (Woody generally aims to please...he may have stocked up for the expected infusion of MIACers.)  ;D

ANy other non Dutchers heading to Pella Saturday?
Let me know and I would like to meet up with you.
So would St. Johns be a middle of the road IIAC team this year? I mean, all the teams in the IIAC played Central a lot more competitively than they did.
I was really looking forward to having our IIAC board back to ourselves this week, but it looks like there are still some leftover Johnnies complaining about gloating. Johnnies, of all people, complaining about another team gloating.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I think that those returning from injury, and performing as if they didn't miss a beat while missing playing time helped a great deal on Saturday.  The Dutch didn't play the regular season with the same team they had on Saturday.  The Dutchmen's ability to run the ball has improved considerably, too.  It's encouraging as a Dutch fan.  I think Wartburg, Olivet,  and St. John's have caught a team that is as healthy as it has been all season.  Comparing conferences doesn't seem to matter.  Plus, I personally don't want to re-live last week all over again (pretty please?).

My only hope is that this team hasn't peaked yet.

GO DUTCH!
