Oh, thats where the big money is at. You're probably pulling in more in 3 months than I will be in my entire 15 over here (that is minus the outstanding Amazon bill). Any change to the weather in Iowa? Any hopes of moving the game back to 1 p.m. kickoff?  ;D

I don't know about 3 months...  maybe back in 03-04 when guys were making 800-1000 a day

Bummer. Still, though, Kabul is not a bad assignment from what I hear. The Future Army officers of the world are getting it handed to them by Navy. See what happens when you don't let enlisted guys play? Dutch Radio, looking forward to hearing the broadcast today. Try and stay warm.

better than my last contract in Iraq last year.

Kinda glad I dont have to play today, I dont mind the cold and all but this is nasty out. Lots of power outages being reported around central and eastern Iowa on the air. Im laying out the couch waiting for the Dutch to get underway, Im pretty set for watching football and drinking a beer or 2 the rest of the day!

Into the pregame now and it looks like we'll actually get rolling right at 1:30.  Only an hour and a half behind sked, so nothing too bad.  Crowd still sparse to say the least.

Kickoff in 30 mins? This time zone thing keeps screwing me up.

keep your head down and give me a holler if you guys roll up this way.  Got a couple of guys working with me that were 82nd.

Airborne Dutch

Closest I am getting to Kabul is when I go to Bagram for leave in 3 weeks. Little bit off topic and a little bit of chest thumping but I think a lot of security groups like hiring 82nd guys just because of the level of discipline that is engrained and we are always ready to roll out (18 hours or less to anywhere in the world). I was only at Bragg for 5 weeks before I deployed, but I got the sense that 82nd is just a whole different breed of Army unit.

lots of static on the webcast, whats the deal with that? Is it just on mine, or is it a broadcast issue?

Airborne Dutch

Yeah, figures the officers would go to all the good places. A steak house in the middle of Kabul?! Please tell me that they serve pork. That would be awesome.
