WOW what a football game. It was interesting the hole game. Justin Beaver's is one hell of a football player. I also though the IIAC ref's did a good job letting the kids decide the game. Congrat's to UWW for take it right to the Mount Union team. Two outstanding teams.

I noticed last night in the FCS Title game they said the officiating crew is roated from each conference every year, so each one gets it like every eight years. Not sure if that is the case in D3. I think it might have something to do with teams that make the playoffs and what conference they come from, but I could be wrong.

The weather was a factor, but I thought the Whitewater QB looked more consistent when he dropped back to pass. Both QBs had a little bit of a problem with happy feet, but I guess it is easy to understand when they are facing the opposite defense.

There was a lot of talent overall on that field today!

I enjoyed this title game the most regardless of D-II, D-III, or I-AA since St. John's beat Mount Union a few years ago.

I wanted to see Whitewater win, but the big thing unlike the 1-AA game last night was that I wanted a good game to watch. I got what I wanted.

Hopefully the new coach announced on Monday in Decorah has some recent ties to the Whitewater program.

floyd you don't have any inside information on who the new coach is going to be do you?

Sounds like it was a great game. Nice to see a team from our region take the title.

And come on...someone in the Norse Country has to have some info by now on the new coach. Share with us!!!

dog- don't you have it in with the Luther guy's on the post that you can get some information from on the new coach?

Dog, you did miss a good game today. UWW came out right away and punched Mount Union in the mouth and kept it up the hole game. The Mount Union guy got frustated and got 3 Personal fouls for unsportsman conduct.

Congrats to UWW. I think they seemed to want it more. The whole team was excited and just seem to out play MUC. MUC IMO seemed to think that they could just show up and win.

I could not believe that coach ran out on the field. Bruns reached for his falg about 3 times before he threw it that was a good chuckle. IMO didn't show much class by the staff for that penalty.

Thanks. His second choice was that evil empire up there in Waverly.

I thought that in all the games in the playoffs I saw this year the officials sucked on their wistles a lot. I thought that there were many holding penalties that should have been called. I know that you can call holding on most every play. The one that comes to mind was the one they call a 5 yard face mask on UWW and that defender was taken to the ground by the O lineman blocking him. I do think there were a lot of good no calls.

I saw that play too I agree they blew that call. In fact I though MU's right tackle was holding most of the game. I couldn't believe they didn't call more holding, If I could see it,It had to be bad. But other then that I thought they did a fairly good job.

From the sounds of it I wonder if all those blowouts for Mt Union maybe bit them a bit on the butt today??? They weren't used to playing in close games (unlike Central

) and when they got in a close one it sounds like they self destructed and got 3 personal foul calls. That, and I imagine Whitewater was just a bit motivated for today after losing in the final the last 2 years to Mt. Union.
