the W update
Since the photos were posted a week ago. The aux gym floor has been sealed and painted. The jump circle is "The W" logo. Out of bounds is black. The flooring in the fitness room are done and the ellipsoidal machines are in. The pool walls + ceiling are painted. The indoor track area is beginning to get cleaned out and painted. The racquetball courts have 3 walls up. The wood is there ready to be installed.  The classrooms should be fully operational by 1st day of classes. About 1/2 of the hall of champions has been tiled. The opening for students has been backed up to Jan 7 and to the general public until later in Jan.

They have added IIAC and team banners along the south wall of Levick Arena. A nice addition of color.

As for LV wrestling. Wartburg took 2 teams and went 8-0. As for -1 there was a HS kid from Dbq who was the teams only qualifier. Lost his first match and also round 2. After he lost it and was docked 1 team point so in the final standings his team was listed with -1 point.

Merry Christmas and safe travels to all.

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

I too still keep in contact with a couple of professors & advisers from Wartburg as well as take time to chat with my coaches when I get to a game.  I also keep in contact with my work study boss (even if he is a Packers fan)...I personally think he only stays in contact with me so I can bring Mabe's Pizza or SG Pop to him when I visit Waverly.  Honestly though, he is always keeping me and the rest of our crew updated on where all the alum are and what they are up to.

DBQ1965

I sent an email to the AD at UD to find out about the seating capacity at the "new" Chalmers Field.  I'll post the answer on here as soon as I get it.

And for all Spartan fans, I also asked about the dedication date for the facility ... whether the home opener against Rockford College or a later date.  I'll keep you posted.

Feliz Navidad.

Here is something to ponder.  Give me the best the All IIAC Offense and Deffense Considering years 2000-2007.  This would be the best players at these positions over the past 7 years.  Let me know what you think.

DBQ1965

I just heard back from UD Athletic Director Dan Runkle and he says "home" seating in the new Chalmers Field will be 2000 and visitor seating will be 1000.

No date is set yet for dedicating the stadium.

As for D3 compared to D1...I liked Freddie's comment.  I am sure many of us on here would do the same with a big paycheck.

Actually, I have other debts that take priority over my wife's student loans. Student loans are second-to-last priority, just ahead of the mortgage. :)

I want to meet that guys wife...first she supposedly threatened to stab him in the face if he didn't get her a beer and then the guy said she was gonna kick the cops ass!!!  My wife got a chuckle out of that.

I wonder if Dubuque not yet having a date for the stadiums dedication means they are waiting until they are SURE that it will be ready!!!

I think the WB motto has been "ready or not, here we come" Why change now?

Probably would have been a good fight as women don't fight fair.

Here is something you don't see everyday.  In wrestling Wartburg beat King's College 56 to minus 1 at the Desert Duals in Las Vegas.  Apparently someone on the King's team must have lost their cool after one of several defeats.

I had thought that must have been a typo when I saw that score but I guess not!!!

Klopenhiemer

Holly cow boys we are dead here.  I guess we are going through the winter doldrums that leave us dejected that we coming to the end of football season.  Merry Christmas to all!

Merry Christmas Klop, I'm not so sure it's dead, but maybe everybody is seriously pondering your question about the all-IIAC teams over the last 7 seasons!!!

Klopenhiemer

dog, that could be.  i would be very interested to see what people come up with.  atleast i did not ask for the all time iiac team :o
