Sportsknight, now knowing you are from Cascade I see how you know about the Morocco.  That is an out of the way place so I thought it was odd you knew about it before knowing where you were from.

The Knightlife was where my frat always had our formals.  It was a bit of a drive from Dubuque but they had a great "don't ask, don't tell" policy towards carding for drinks that was popular with us!!!

I will put my 2 cents in and plug the Dog House in Dubuque.  Not that it is anything special but it is very close to campus.  We would leave games at half time and go get a beer and some food, get caught up on big games on TV and maybe even play a game of pool before heading back for the 2nd half.

Knight Light, thats the place that we stopped after games for dinner.

The guy had champion mastiffs and their pictures on the wall.  He actually had one of his dog in the bar with him.  Pretty cool stuff.  Does he still own the place, or has he since sold the place?

Dubuque -- we always skipped Dubuque and went further west to the Knight Light Supper Club (Dyersville, maybe?)

Yep the Knight Light is just east of Dyersville.  Good to hear that there were Central fans at a place called the Knight Light ;D

My folks and I used to head up to the KL a couple times a year, but in the last 2-3 years they changed management and the food has gone downhill.  That and all the good new places in Dubuque don't give much reason to head out to Dyersville.  F that town anyway (says the Cascade alum)!

The Manchester girl (me) always lobbied pretty hard to go there.... it used to be the best food around!

I also used to frequent Joe's Knight Hawk in Waverly....  ;D

We always ate at the Knight light as well on the way home from games. It was fun when the buses pulled in, but always a later night home. Fortunately, never had to travel home from Dubuque after a loss.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I think I ate at the Moracco for the first time when I was in 5th grade or so, and have been there a couple hundred times since.  My folks are pretty good friends with the Heiar's too, so that always made it an easy decision to go in there.  Last time I was in there was after last fall's Central-Loras game, and as I was sitting at the bar enjoying a couple drinks with my folks, Central AD Al Dorenkamp and his wife and daughter rolled in.

considering the knights are withing close proximity to coe, loras, dubuque, luther, and cornell, I am sure that travel was never a huge issue.

Now coming out of SL and heading to Dubuque back to back weekends to plays LC and UD that was a trek.

I was curious if the IIAC ever took travel into consideration when making the schedule.  I noticed Central played  at UD and Loras this year.  I'm guessing they don't take travel into consideration if BV played at Loras and UD in consecutive weeks!!!

My sophmoer year we went to UD, LC, Cent, Bethel, Luther.  Then we had Coe, Wart, Simpson, Cornell and Waldorf at home.

We only had over night trips for Central, Simpson and BV and we had the schedule set so that we had one overnight trip one year and two the next year, so travelling wasn't that bad for LC.  And we always had to stop at Bishops in Dubuque on the way home from Loras or UD games.  Good stuff there...gotta love the buffets  :)

I always would have thought that Storm Lake to Dubuque would be the worst road trip in the conference, but a couple years ago Commish Cochrane told me that going from Simpson or Central to Luther took the longest time, due to the lack of 4-lane roads in between.  Having traveled Highway 63 a bit in the past few months, I can certainly see his point.

The pool is to open in 2 weeks and the indoor track- tennis/basketball area by 2/1.. that's a good thing because there is a meet scheduled for 2/2

YES THIS YEAR.

Here is part of a release from before Christmas, but being in there YESTERDAY I think the only thing available MONDAY will be the fitness room, climbing wall and aerobics room.
