Of course it does.

Either way, it's a long time to wait.....

A big thank you to sportsknight for the highlight film shown at the Knight's banquet yesterday afternoon. A first class job illustrating the season.

I'm baaaaack!

Hope you all had a good Holiday.

For the record it took Heys Jr 2 days to get back into Iowa due to fog, sleet, snow...Imagine that; weather.

8)

Good to have you back Purple.  I thought maybe I needed to check the WIAC boards to see if Heys Jr pulled a "Danny Jones" and transferred over to Whitewater and that is why you hadn't been posting on here!!!  That or maybe you were too busy trying to buy a house for the family in the greater Mt. Vernon/Lisbon metro area  ;D

I was up in the Forest City area today for work and drove by the Waldorf campus.  Their gym looks like a glorified Morton building and their football field would take a back seat to most 2A football programs in this state.  They would certainly be a red headed step child if they joined the IIAC...but I still think it wouldn't be a horrible idea for them to join us.

AND, on my way back home from my trip today my car got hit by a car that ran a red light and is totalled.  So no more Dubuque royal blue car for me.  My daughters want us to buy either a pink car or an orange car...so maybe they are closet Wartburg fans!!!

Spring practice cannot come fast enough...especially when I spent most of today out in 5 degree weather!!!

Always helps when you have a good team and lots of highlights to work with.

I have been a part of 2-9 teams that can put together a stellar highlight video and wate 30 mintues of one's time.
That's crap.  No 2-9 team would ever have a half hour's worth of "highlights."  You might have a few good plays and a handful of great plays, but for the most part its going to be a bunch of decent to average plays.  And if all the video comes from a camera in the press box, then don't even try to bring that weak sh!t.  I've seen every Wartburg highlight tape since 2001 (and had the honor of compiling this year's edition), and I'd put any one of them up as one of the best in Division III.

I have been part of those 2-9 teams that lose 9 games by a total of 21 points.  Teams where you could not close a door let a lone close out a game.  Teams that have more all conference players than the conference winner because they are so rich with talent.  Teams that play 5 OT games in a year with 3 of the going to atleast double OT.  Thats how you make a stellar highlight tape with a 2-9 team.  These plays were not taped from a press box.  They had music, they had all the glizt and glimmer.  Now I am not ready to classify them as the best in D3, but Im glad yours is that good.

Welcome back Heys. Hope the holidays were good to you. Two days sounds about right for me to travel that far, with good weather. How long does it usually take him?

We fly him in and out...he had to stay overnight in St. Louis and then couldn't land in CR the next day...He got rerouted to Moline and had to be chauffered in.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

Now, aren't I glad I didn't make a crack about Mt. Vernon Int. airport. I'm slow, but it all makes sense now. I had to take a nap today so I could stay up late enough to talk to you.

Thunderbolt

Sounds like Doolittle should have took a nap today. And a pink car? That will get you left out of everyones highlight film.

The pink car would make them closet Luther fans, correct?

I wondered if a Wartburg/Luther war might break out over this!!!  It was kind of funny, when I got home last night as I walked in the door our girls were jumping up and down chanting "new car, new car".  My wife got mad and told them that instead of being happy we are getting a new car they should have been asking if I was ok.  They just shrugged their shoulders and went back into the playroom.

Wow, can't we all just get along?

Over the last two years I've had the opportunity to see highlights from about half of the IIAC. Obviously, Central and Wartburg had the most content, with the edge goint to WB for production values. But the one with the slickest production is Cornell's. just my opinion, and you can draw your own conclusions.

I am really surprised IIAC schools aren't taking more advantage of youtube or other sites like it.  I know Cornell had a 10 minute recruiting video on there last year and figured you would start seeing all the schools do it. Not just recruiting videos but end of season highlights and all that stuff.

footballdaddy, I think you are correct about the dads place in a family.  In mine I think I rank about a half step above the dog...and that's debatable!!!

Thats pretty funny The 1. Stings a little, but funny. Doolittle, if they start teaching your dog tt drive the lawn mower and take out the trash, your days are numbered.
