AND, on my way back home from my trip today my car got hit by a car that ran a red light and is totalled.  So no more Dubuque royal blue car for me.  My daughters want us to buy either a pink car or an orange car...so maybe they are closet Wartburg fans!!!

The pink car would make them closet Luther fans, correct?

I wondered if a Wartburg/Luther war might break out over this!!!  It was kind of funny, when I got home last night as I walked in the door our girls were jumping up and down chanting "new car, new car".  My wife got mad and told them that instead of being happy we are getting a new car they should have been asking if I was ok.  They just shrugged their shoulders and went back into the playroom.

Ok Doolittle I will ask.  Are you ok?  I hope you didn't get dinged up.  Sorry to hear about the car.  Not fun to be in an accident.

I have been part of those 2-9 teams that lose 9 games by a total of 21 points.  Teams where you could not close a door let a lone close out a game.  Teams that have more all conference players than the conference winner because they are so rich with talent.  Teams that play 5 OT games in a year with 3 of the going to atleast double OT.  Thats how you make a stellar highlight tape with a 2-9 team.  These plays were not taped from a press box.  They had music, they had all the glizt and glimmer.  Now I am not ready to classify them as the best in D3, but Im glad yours is that good.

Wow, can't we all just get along?

Over the last two years I've had the opportunity to see highlights from about half of the IIAC. Obviously, Central and Wartburg had the most content, with the edge goint to WB for production values. But the one with the slickest production is Cornell's. just my opinion, and you can draw your own conclusions.

I am really surprised IIAC schools aren't taking more advantage of youtube or other sites like it.  I know Cornell had a 10 minute recruiting video on there last year and figured you would start seeing all the schools do it. Not just recruiting videos but end of season highlights and all that stuff.

footballdaddy, I think you are correct about the dads place in a family.  In mine I think I rank about a half step above the dog...and that's debatable!!!

Went to the MIAC board last night.  The Johnnie Highlights are up on You Tube.

I am ok after the accident, just a sore back and shoulder.  And the woman who hit me is ok as well...which is the important part...our cars can always be replaced.  I'm just glad she was driving a car and not in a big rig or I would be a goner.

BV has their 2008 schedule up.  It lists just 9 games but they are playing Waldorf on Oct. 25th.  Looking at the schedules that are posted.  It looks like Wartburg will have either a bye or a non-con game for the last week of the season.  For teams that could be a playoff contender...would you like a bye week heading into the playoffs???  Or would you rather have a game that last week of the season???

DutchFan2004

Well a bye at that time of the season could be good or bad.  Gives you a chance to heal up if you have some dings but it gets you out of game speed.  I would say it could be a 50 50 type thing.  The other thing ( and this is not a slap at the Knights) but you have to take care of business all 10 weeks before that so it could be a moot point if you don't win.  I think that a team and coach will look at the games and not let them worry about that.  IMO that is something that is to far off in the future to worry about.

Speaking of Wartburg and schedules.  I think this is the 3rd straight year they end the season with 3 of 4 games at home.  Likewise they have 3 of their first 4 conference games on the road.

Also it looks like BV will have both of their non-con games at home this year.  Does that happen often???  BV also gets to make 2 trips to Dubuque...with 1 home game between the 2 trips.

DutchFan2004

The last four years for the Dutch both Dubuque teams were either at home or on the road.  Years 1 and three were Loras and UD at home and years 2 and 4 were on the road to both.

Dog glad to hear that you came through that unharmed for the most part.  Always scary to hear about things like that.

I'll see what I can do about getting the '01 and '02 Wartburg highlight tapes on YouTube.

So that sounds like I have to work on getting '03 and '04 on there then.
