Keep those coming 2k4? Any word on where Timmy will be the gradass at next year?
Dutchie1- You still at Wells or are you somewhere else now?

The first rejection came in already he won't be at Florida Atlantic.  They don't have any positions open.  1 down and 84 to go.

You Might be a Redneck if your grandma wears a tank top without a bra.

I'm sure Howard Schnellenburger would have had a wealth of knowledge for your son...too bad they didn't have any openings.  Is he mainly looking at D-1 schools or did he send out letters to all types of schools???

Well he started with D1 because to get a masters they have to offer a masters degree.  I think that like UWW he would consider if they had a program for that.

New to the board......

Has anyone heard or seen any additional news on the new Simpson staff?  I saw that they hired a new Head Coach in Jim Glogowski who brought in Simpson alum Joe Beschorner as the OC.  Have been curious to see how the hiring have gone over and impact on recruiting.....or more importantly what's the outlook for 2008?

Welcome to the board.  I can't answer your questions about recruits or coaches but the more posters on this board the more merrier it can become.  +k for joining.

I left Wells Fargo about 6 months ago. I'm now working in the marketing department of a legal insurance firm, ARAG. Ah, good old Hells Fargo, er, Wells Fargo. :) Do you still talk to my orange clad former co-worker?  ;D

Dutchfan1 What division of WF were you with? I am currently employed with the Well and just living the dream :). Just curious, seems like a lot of CUI grads end up here. I also work with several others from the IIAC. I think we have one from just about every school represented.

D2004 I'm assuming Tim is your son and I wish him luck in his pursuit of a GA position. Central has been able to establish some connections with some pretty solid programs through Jake Anderson, our strength coach. Maybe that could help Tim with his search??

Just off the top of my head I know we have GA's or interns in the strength/conditioning field at Boise State, Kentucky, Iowa State and a couple others that are escaping me at the moment. I know our grad at BSU interned with Louisville for a summer through coach Anderson.

We're lucky to have Coach Anderson at Central, I'm sure he has/or had some opportunities to move up the NCAA ranks but he is great for the Dutch. He was under Doyle at Iowa which has helped our strength/conditioning students get a foot in the door with some good programs. I'm guessing Coach Mac is helping Tim out as well, I wish him luck with his search.

Yes Coach Anderson has and will help Tim.  Coach Mac has also helped.  There is a CUI football grad that is at Florida State as well.

They have also hired Mike Cordes from Wayne State College as Special Teams coach and kept Coach Ferguson from previous staff. The Storm have lots of returning players from last year

I thought there was also an FSU GA. Jesse Collins, a former RB for the Dutch I believe? I'm sure he will do great, must be a pretty exciting/anxious time for him.

Df1: Haha, yes there is a good chance if you live in the DM area you are an employee of the Fargo. Fortunately my office was not affected by the cuts. Surprisingly, the head honchos are looking to grow our portion of the company.

I miss college football already...can't wait for it's return!

My brother just visited this week.  He had been pretty set on BV, but he really liked the coaches at Simpson and is now considering going there.  One of his buddies who is being recruited for basketball sat in when he met with the coaches just to kill time before his own visit started, and he was also quite impressed with them and said he would go there if he was looking to play football.  Based on that, I'm guessing that there are probably a lot of kids who are taking a closer look at Simpson.

Wow that would be a shake up to see your brother down at Simpson.  You know as well as I do that Glogowski was impressive when he interviewed at BVU.  If that happens will the other SOB boys follow suit.  You talked as though there were many who might be looking to attend BVU?

Considering that Wells employs roughly half of Des Moines, that doesn't surprise me. :) I worked as a Fraud Prevention Specialist for Cards, dealing with card theft and Identity Theft and such. Interesting stuff...

I hope you're not one of the 100+ getting laid off....

I really enjoyed working Id theft for appoximately 7yrs made alot of contact in the credit  card companys. I didn't work for a bank. It was like putting a puzzle together. I just enjoyed but those people behind bars

Never got alot of cooperation from WF. They were real hard to work with. But I also should say I made a contact out of MN and he was a real help.

Old Dutch

I just viewed the St. John's FB highlight tape on Youtube.  They even found more than a couple plays from the stomping applied by the Dutch.  So I would imagine there is a way for 2-9 teams to get a decent highlight reel.  I'll be anxious to see the Wartburg reel that Sportsknight will put up a one of the best in DIII.  The Central video's I've seen has been almost exclusively pressbox video, as was St. John's, so if the Warts have a videographer on the sideline for all games I'm dammed impressed.

I can't say Wartburg's highlight video is the best in DIII as I've never seen anyone elses, but I will have to say that  Wartburg put a very good one together.

Just finished watching the Highlight video's from 04,05,06 of Wartburg and there was only a couple of times the shots were in the Pressbox the rest were from the sideline and it was up close and personal. Sportsknight name appeared on most of the video's. Man does he do a great job. If everyone else's video's are from the pressbox then I would have to say Wartburg's has the best highlight's in the IIAC.   Man do I miss the kid playing football more then I though.

Not all, but a vast majority.  I graduated in '06, and the only time I can remember that we didn't have somebody at a game were the playoff games at Linfield in '03 and Concordia in '04.  I went out to Linfield in '02, but a second trip out there wasn't in the Wartburg TV budget for '03.  As for Concordia, I was already going to NCAA Cross Country and everyone else that would have been able to shoot was already signed up to do something (radio or TV) for the season-opening basketball games that same weekend.  Altogether, I shot 24 games from '02-'05, not counting three that we aired live that I did play-by-play or color for.  Loved every minute of it too.

One more in my posting binge...

Anybody have any info on Loras' AD situation.  I know that Chad Walthall was the AD and men's basketball coach before leaving for the U. of Iowa, but I didn't realize until yesterday that they hadn't filled the AD position.  Any ideas on who might be the front-runners or when a hire might be made?

Flyod if you are out there I have an off topic Luther College question for you.  I see that you lost your soccer coach, who had seemed to hav built a solid program over the past years.  Any insight into why he left, and who they might be selecting as the new coach?
