So whats the information on Raeburn.  I figured this might get more conversation on the board than it has.  Is he upset with Coe or does he want to be closer to home?  It would be interesting to see another spot in the IIAC open up.  That would make 3 new head guys going into the 2008 season.

Just figure that he wanted to be closer to home. Or no one really cares. Or maybe another transfer to Wartburg drove him over the edge (just trying to be funny)

Holly cow I mean the guy has done some great things at Coe.  If I were the administration I think I would get off my duff and find out how much money this guys in realistic terms.  I do not really care either.  Maybe Steve Ryan with Morningside would take the job if Raeburn leaves.

I agree with you that he has done some good things at Coe, but maybe he believe that he will have trouble winning the conference at Coe. But then again with the young talent he has I wouldn't think that would be it. I still think its he just wants to get back home.

Would coach Staker have a shot at replacing Raeburn if he left?

There's a small article on Raeburn on the back page of today's CR Gazette sports section.  He confirmed that he's interviewing at Wabash this week, but that's all he'd say.  Coe AD John Chancellor tried to put a positive spin on things, saying something to the effect of Raeburn's been successful and successful people have chances to move on.  It didn't read to me like he's doing everything in his power to keep Raeburn at Coe.  With all the interest Raeburn has shown in other jobs over the past couple seasons, maybe Chancellor is hoping he leaves now and Coe doesn't have to deal with a "will he or won't he" situation every year.

You kinda have to wonder though...when Raeburn finishes interviewing this week, will he shake the Wabash AD's hand?  ;D

I think that its hilarious that a Beaver, Knight, and Spartian are the people talking about this.

Where is CK and the supporting cast of Coe followers?  Maybe CK was scared off after the tiff in mid December between the Knight followers.

Maybe the school does not give a crap if he leaves, maybe the reason that Suckow left are reasons that the college doesnt care if he leaves.  Any way you slice it, you do not lose top talent in their senior year, and a coach with his track record should be more activily pursued my his institution.

Spoke to ex Coe player today at breakfast. I asked him if he knew Raeburn but in for another job ?  All he said was really end of conversation.

Sounds like the attitude of Kohawk nation is good riddance to poor trash.

I wonder if anyone on Coe's staff now...would go with him?

Kopenheimer,

Steve Ryan served on Chris Creighton's staff at Ottawa before taking the Morningside job.  I have heard very good things about him.

I wouldn't say 1 conversation is the pulse for "Kohawk Nation" - ex-player...did he play, maybe he didn't get along with Coach Raeburn, is he a true indicator?

I'd be interested in any more "takes" on what kind of program he runs at Coe...

BB16 I agree.  I should have edited my post, but I do not view one person as the voice of Kohawk Nation.

Steve Ryan was the only football coach who recruited me that did not lie about where the team would be in four years.  He said that they would contend for a national title and I did not believe him.  My junior year of college they went a tear before they ran into the national champ in the semi finals.

If Raeburn does leave and they could get Ryan I think it would be outstanding.  Now, the only reason I am saying this is because he just made the final cut at UST, so he might be looking fora differnt program, or the UST job and all their money was to tempting not to apply for.

yes the young man was a starter for 3yrs. He has never said anything bad about Raeburn, but I though it was strange that he would said that. I plain on seeing him this week and will ask him about it.

Devine-
Not my wife there. My Jess played VB, the other one played BB. Many people got them confused in HS and College with them growing up about 10 miles apart. My wife is a year older.
Bro-in-law still with Pella Corp. He did work in the Story City plant, but I think is moving back to Pella. Not sure though.
