TME, Prince Bussie finished up his career in 2006!!!  Winning at Wartburg!!!

Here is a picture of him with Joe Chlapaty...the man who donated 22 million to UD for a new stadium... http://www.dbq.edu/stats/football/photos/seniors_small.jpg

i figured he did, just seemed like he was one of those guys that was around for ever... just making a joke.

as for Coe, I talked to a couple of coaches late last week, and there doesn't seem to be any new knews on who they are talking to.  all this crappy weather probably deters from getting guys in to talk to the team and get interviewed and so on.

Yeah, I was joking back at you.  Dubuque, for so long had teams loaded with freshmen and sophomores that when a player actually stuck around...and in Prince's case he sat out 2005 with an injury so he was around for 5 years...that player would be a starter for 4 years over a 5 year period and it would seem like Dubuque would have players sticking around for a long long time.

I know Keith Olberman used to make jokes about Acie Earl playing at Iowa for 7 or 8 years!!!

IIAC 2008 football...

Wartburg as early favorite because of their history of success and the players they return

Central a half notch below Wartburg.  The Dutch lose a lot but always seem loaded and have a history of winning.

After the top two it gets a bit jumbled...

Coe returns a lot of talent, they just have some questions regarding the coaching situation and how the players respond to that.

Dubuque loses a senior heavy team and are adjusting to a new OC.  I think they do allright next year though.

Simpson adjusts to a new coaching staff but has some good talent returning and a somewhat soft non-con schedule.

BV loses a lot of starting talent and have had some small recruiting classes recently.  But this will be the coaching staffs 3rd year there and the Beavers are always competitive.

Luther loses Sherden and Stavast and will bring in a new coaching staff...lots of questions for the Norse

Cornell hasn't won a conference game since 2005...but their coaching staff will be in their 3rd year at Cornell and they haven't been suffering player losses like a lot of schools with their record normally would.  Seasoned players plus coaching stability mean they finally leave the conference cellar.

Loras I believe are headed south, over the last 4 years only Cornell has a worse conference record 2-8 last year and I don't think Osty is getting the job done for the Duhawks.  I think Loras will occupy the conference cellar this coming season.

Of course I reserve the right to change my opinion on conference positions all the way up to the opening kickoff next september!!!

How about starting some.  How about Hayden Fry comes out of retirement to Coach the Kohawks to an NCAA D 3 title.  Will that one due for you Charlie?

I know you think I am picking on you but I am not just trying to pass this boring time of year with a feeble attempt at some humor.

Yes just like when Tom Davis went to Drake and look how that turned out might be a good hire foe Coe

From an inside source, interviews are starting this week and will more then likely continue to next week due to the weather.

Hey DF2K4...any updates regarding your son and his GA status for next year???

Last year if Dubuque was losing at halftime I would go outside and jump on my lucky mower...it worked up until the BV game.  Next year before the Central game I plan on mowing all day friday and early saturday morning...you know, just to get all the mojo I can get working for the Spartans!!!

I heard since Marv Levy resigned as Bills GM he's interested in returning to the sidelines @ Coe.
Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

No word yet on a GA position yet.  He just sent out more resumes this weekend to some more schools.  I hope he can secure a position.  If not he may just enroll at a school to get his masters and then try and secure an assistant coaching position later.
