Having Wartburg so early in the seaon this next year for both teams may be a blessing.  The loser of that game may be able to play their way back into the playoffs if they can run the table.  What does every one else think of that?

IIAC not likely to take 3 teams to the playoffs and since Dubuque will take the conference...that probably leaves the winner of Central/Wartburg scrambling to make the post season  ;D ;D ;D

I took a look at the IIAC website and got some info on conference football championships.  I have noticed that Coe and Dubuque claim more titles than the IIAC gives them credit.  I am thinking those were IIAA titles from the teens and early 20's and the IIAC formed in 1923.
I can no longer find the explanation on Coe's web site, but the Kohawks also won championships with something known as the Iowa Conference in 1906, 1913, 1914 and 1916.

I believe that was the Iowa intercollegiate athletic association...the IIAC formed in 1923  pretty much the same schools but oh well.  Dubuque showed winning some Iowa conference titles...tied with Coe and Cornell 1 year plus they won a Hawkeye conference title 1 year and an Ellsworth conference title 1 year.  All before 1923.

The closest thing to a classic car that I've ever owned was probably me 93 Sunbird.

I hear that Sunbird is still sought after by many collectors.

Doubt that seriously.  Got the car the weekend after I turned 16 and had it until early April of my soph year at Wartburg, when I hit a patch of black ice and put it in the rhubarb.  Rolled it, actually.  Last I knew one of my cousins had taken most of the body off of it and turned it into a racecar for some special 4-cylinder only series at the Farley Speedway.

It was a decent little car, but looking back its amazing what I put up with at 16 that I wouldn't now.  No cruise, no power windows, no CD player, and only two wiper settings.  At that point, it was all about getting from Point A to Point B.

SK I was being a little tounge and check there.  I should have compared it to my 1984 Nissan King Cab pickup as being a collector.

I do not see either making the playoffs.  I think Cornell, BV, and UD will be duking it out for 2 playoff spots.   ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Oh, I had picked up on the sarcasm, but still felt the need to share the sad saga of my Sunbird.  Chalk it up to a slow day at the office.

Hey all I am asking for is for the Cubs streak to end before BV's streak.  Then we can start talking Beaver football on a national level ;D ;D

Hey Doolittle,

Still heading to Waverly for Wartburg-UD hoops on Saturday?

Yes, we are heading up to Waverly for the game.  I know where the PEC or whatever it is you are calling it is...but where should I park and where exactly do I enter the new building???

Will anybody from on here be at the game???
