Did we leave the WIAC in the dust or what?

IIAC - 851   WIAC - 843    ;)

Next on the list...the ol' Minnesota Intercollegiate Athletic Conference

IIAC - 851    MIAC - 2770

only 1919 pages to go.

Hmm....but what would we talk about for that many pages? There are only so many regurgitated jokes and stories about Hamm's beer to go around...  ???

I know, potential 10th conference member!!!  That always leads to some heated discussions...that or discussing if Cedar Rapids actually smells bad  ;D

It truely depends on what time of day your in CR to see what it smells like.  Stinks some of the time, but you get used to it after awhile.  It smells great at about 3 every day for a little bit when they're making fruity cereals, cakes, and breads.
with ADM expanding to the biggest ethenol plant here pretty soon I'm sure it will make it smell even better.

I decided to skip the whole studying thing and went for a degree in Communication Arts with an emphasis in Electronic Media.
You, Me, Sportsknight, and Pressbox.
They say Comm arts guys make the best d3fb.com posters.

Hey, I was a communication major myself.....

A communications major is about the same thing as a marketing major.  I was a marketing major.  You could show up to class half drunk 3 times a week and memorize vocab for tests.

There were a lot of cross classes between the communications dept. and the marketing dept. at good ol' BVU.  Most of the people who I was friends with graduated with either of the two degrees.  They were your  traditional good time charlie, with a few anal retentive people who took college serriously. ;D

Let's face it:

You can always retake a class, but you can never relive your college years, so you might as well enjoy 'em the first time around.

Very similar situation to Storm Lake.

The morning starts out with a drive by the packing plant.  You hear the never ending sound of hogs or chickens screaming as they are killed.  This smells something like a nuclear meltdown would.  Then by mid morning they get the meat boned out and start to clean it and now it smells like buring baby diapers.  This lasts well into the afternoon until they start to package the meat.  Then after it is packaged it smells like your mouth tastes after you  throw up during a good night of drinking.  Then the it calms down by bed time to a slow simmer that bakes into your house, clothes, and personal belongings.  You think you forgot to take the trash out, nope its just another day living in SL.

I hear a similar story being told in CR as well.

No good times at the Res? That must have left with the week long kegger on the second floor in May term '03.

Clinton 3 is not a good place to live your freshman year if you are in need of a little motivation to study. The combination of having a co-ed floor and discovering the wonders of alcohol at the same time.
Only disaster can come from that.
Sadly, I think the days of C3 being the hotbed of all things debauchery-related are over.  After our class moved out, they removed the urinals and made it a female-only floor.  I don't know if any guys have lived up there since.
My last couple years of school, you basically had to go to Founders, the Manors, Knights Village, or off campus to have a good time.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

i dont think i've ever heard of cedar rapids described as that... personally i don't think it smells that bad, but then again i've been living here for 5 years now.
at least in CR you get a good smell once a day, that's the only one i notice.  you don't notice it if your not down around the plant, i.e coe and downtown

Of course it has not.  And Storm Lake is not even close to that bad either, or else no one would like there.  It was a poor attempt at humor.

But while we are on the topic of smell, how is the water in the other college towns.  Storm Lakes was not the most desireable.  We drank a ton of bottled water.  Anyone else have a great water, like in DM.

Water??? In Waverly??? I think there was a line straight from the Cedar to my dorm room. It got better over the course of time, but maybe I just got used to it.

In my day, we were known simply as Speech Majors (no Communications in those days) .  And because I made the Dean's list twice (not the one you want to be on) ... I had enough extra academic time to come out with minors in psych and lit.

Most of that bottled water had barley and hops in it, didn't it?  ;D

Of course, I can't remember when the "bottle ban" on campus began...

Ummmmm yes I am glad that someone caught what I was trying to say.

The bottle ban was so stupid.  If we listed all the stupidness that happened in Pierce/White, having bottles would have ranked about 250 on a list of 253 things.

Are you saying you were on "double secret probation"  ;D ;D ;D

And a speech major becoming a chaplain...what a great idea!!!

Anytime we came in with a case of Bud Lite bottles, we'd have to announce that Al's was "out" of cans... :-X
