Earlier I posted figures on donations at Iowa colleges and wanted to look at historical records but could only find figures for the last 2 years.  Here is the giving at IIAC schools over the last 2 years and the schools rank out of 28 Iowa schools that were in the survey.

The CIML is a lot like the IIAC in that there are a lot of competitive porgrams who can win on any given night. Some newcomers like Waukee and Johnston have very favorable tax bases and can afford to "spend their way to the top" by using facilities to attract better quality players. SEP used the casino and Adventureland to get there in the past. Add in the traditional powers like Dowling Catholic and Valley and you have a very competitive league.

You can also take Dennis Green's name off the Coe coaching list. He was ready to sign but didn't because he found out Central "was who we thought they were"!

Besides the U and Indianola, the conference is very tough. Both of them have gone gun/spread the last 2 years and it has made their games a ton closer and Urbandale's new facilities are going to be top notch. Poor Johnston went 7-2 and got left out of the playoffs this year after just barely losing to SE Polk and Ankeny and stomping us.

I never thought that I would see the day that Johnston made a push to the top of that conference.  They were down right terrible when I was arround.  I personally hope they stay a bottom feeder, but that is my personal opinion.

Udale's faciities will be good.  Now lets see the Jhawks can get some kids out to play the game.  Maybe get some kids who can actually play the game.  I wonder about the status of the head coach.  He has not faired well.  Do you see him on the hot seat?

Is Sam Anderson still coaching the JHawks?

I am amazed at the amount of $$$$ these high schoolers (moreso their parents) spend on personal trainers, speed clinics, and camps.

Anderson is still around as far as I know.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Are those donations pledged or actual money the school received in the fiscal year?

You can also remove Jim Mora's name also. He too umberage at the talk of "Playoffs?!?!" and also claimed he didn't know "diddley-poo" about college football.

Art Shell was also contacted but declined when he said he knew of no local resturanteurs who he could hire as an OC.

Coe even desperately tried to hire Bobby Knight, but lost out when he found out that in football there are benches on the sidelines, and no chairs!

Yes Anderson is still at Udale.  The man I played for at Udale received a lot of undue pressure from the administration, which I had a big problem with.  Being seperated from the city and the state for that matter, I was just interested in his status.

Some of the pressure he received was due to winning and a couple years of 5-4 records, with a few near misses that could have turned out to be 7-2 seasons.  But if we counted near misses then everyones overall record might improve by 50% right? 8)

Since you are on an Indiana kick, why not contact Kelvin Sampson?  He is looking for work.  I hear he can work a cell phone like nobody else.

Are their recruiting rules in d3? I have never seen a d3 team get in trouble for recruiting viloations, maybe this would be Sampson level of choice?  Speaking of levels im sure the only level hes on right now is a Level Vodka hangover ;D

Sorry for the horrible humor, daddy got me going!

"On the subject of coaches...how many do we have on this board???  Could we fill out a coaching staff with who we have on this board???  What coaching positions have people on this board had???"

Coached receivers at a D3 school in '06 and this year I was the Dbacks, receivers and special teams coordinator at a 1A school, though we've dropped down to A for next year.

Anderson was at West Delaware when I was there -- he left a pretty successful program (3A state contenders every year) to go to Urbandale. We all thought he was crazy at the time -- many still do. He had a pretty sweet deal in Manchester....  8)

If we counted near misses, Central would be a second-to-last place finisher in the IIAC the last 2, maybe 3 years.
