Are those donations pledged or actual money the school received in the fiscal year?

Here is the link... http://www.cae.org/

It says "money raised"  I haven't dug deeper to see just what that means.

You can also take Dennis Green's name off the Coe coaching list. He was ready to sign but didn't because he found out Central "was who we thought they were"!

Now now I thought we got passed that cult like thing this last fall. ;D ;D ;D ;D

Earlier I posted figures on donations at Iowa colleges and wanted to look at historical records but could only find figures for the last 2 years.  Here is the giving at IIAC schools over the last 2 years and the schools rank out of 28 Iowa schools that were in the survey.

School --------2006 --------------2007

Buena Vista - 6,087,576 (11)  2,094,939 (25)
Central ------- 8,557,290 (9)  9,465,471 (7)
Coe  -----------24,365,844 (3)  8,429,822 (9)
Cornell ---------5,511,896 (13)  7,789,761 (10)
Dubuque ------12,244,641 (5)  28,134,349 (3)
Loras  -----------5,131,748 (15)  6,914,801 (11)
Luther  ---------10,865,369 (7)  9,313,744 (8
Simpson  --------3,604,209 (22) 3,800,849 (21)
Wartburg  -------5,724,727 (12)  5,877,387 (15)

I heard a rich Banker from KC gave Central all their money and truth in that?  ;D ;D ;D

9-0 last year and if we don't go undefeated again this year, I will probably quit.
If your players are reading this, I think they just figured out how to get rid of you.
With all due respect to the IIAC, I could have cared less about it when I was a freshman and sophomore in HS. I highly doubt any of those guys have even heard of some of our schools.
Come on, man, just take the joke. :P

I guess I would be the exception to that way of thinking.  I certainly wasn't any IIAC expert during the first half of my high school years, but I was aware of some of schools in the league, since two of my cousins played at Simpson and I'd been to 4 or 5 of their games by the time I was a soph in HS.

I am amazed at the amount of $$$$ these high schoolers (moreso their parents) spend on personal trainers, speed clinics, and camps.

Anderson is still around as far as I know.

Yes Anderson is still at Udale.  The man I played for at Udale received a lot of undue pressure from the administration, which I had a big problem with.  Being seperated from the city and the state for that matter, I was just interested in his status.

Some of the pressure he received was due to winning and a couple years of 5-4 records, with a few near misses that could have turned out to be 7-2 seasons.  But if we counted near misses then everyones overall record might improve by 50% right? 8)

Well if you changed the IIAC's near misses to W's someone's record would go down I wonder who's that would be? ::)

If we counted near misses, Central would be a second-to-last place finisher in the IIAC the last 2, maybe 3 years.

Well Wartburg had a few close ones the last few years too  ;D ;D ;D ;D

Sure, my wife and I gave Central around $150,000....in tuition!

...I am sure there are schools out there in the D1 ranks that would have loved to have Elliot from Linfield play for them but there are decisions and things happen as to why kids wind up where they do.

Except the University of Utah and Urban Meyer...

I believe Elliot was the starter there until he was injured, a kid named Alex Smith stepped and Elliot's next step was to Linfield.

My sources (imaginary friends) tell me the delay in announcing the new Coe football coach is they are still actively going after Purple Heys.  The story goes they have upped the amount of free Crunchberries the family would recieve to Heys liking.  The younger kids are now ok with living in a cold weather environment.  Mrs. Heys would love to live closer to her eldest son and knows how much Purple loves coaching.  The last hold up is Mrs. Heys isn't too keen on the 300% pay cut the family would take for Purple to get back into the coaching ranks!!!  And, you know, San Diego isn't too bad a place to live and all!!!

As I've always said:  It's the Crunchberries, stupid!    :D

If Heys gets the job, look for him to implement a defensive scheme that allows the Tight End to run free down the middle of the field. Similar to the one Luther used against Wartburg.

Now this one just plain made me laugh...  :D

See, leaving the Tight End open down the middle is what we call the "Pay no attention to that big moose running down the middle" Defense.

It is very effective for taking away the uncovered Tackle on the weakside, Lord knows that we want a safety or, gasp, a corner having to tackle one of those...so what you do is roll the SAM backer away from the TE and cheat the SS to the weak side and Viola, no embarrassing TD catches for some chubby OL...OK, so the TE remains open...I didn't say it was perfect.

:)

Can you once and for all get the exact amount of crunchberries needed to seal the deal?  If we can make that happen will you help the Kohawks out and take the job?  I can see some great headlines.  Coach takes on son in rivalry being one of them.   ;D

So TME seems to know who will be the next Coe coach, yet Coocoo and Charlie are nowhere to be found.  Coincidence?  Yeah, probably.

I knew there was a name for that scheme. It worked to perfection for Luther early, as the T.E. dropped a perfectly thrown ball with no one within twenty yards of him. Not so well later on. Them big guys look really fast, when nobody is chasing them.
