Exactly, it seems that a lot of times assistant coaches have some sort of "in" with the head coach.   The longer it takes Coe to name a new head coach, the longer it will take for Coe to have any idea what their staff will look like next season.   Lets face it, each school says basically the same thing to high school kids when they come and visit....having a stable coaching staff come March and April is very important keeping some of the kids interested in attending those schools.

What would it take to get an IIAC game of the week on Iowa Public Television???

This could be for football, volleyball, mens and womens basketball...maybe even throw in an indoor track meet or two???

Utilize the schools production of cameras and maybe pair up a local student with a professional pbp guy???

Would this be impossible???

I like this idea they could run a game of the week each saturday or something to that end

I am almost 100% sure that the assistants will be back regardless of who the new coach is.

Mediacom televises the IIAC conference softball tournament.

I think getting Mediacom to do games would be more likely than IPTV. Getting IPTV to record Christmas @ Wartburg or Christmas with Luther cost big $'s and they don't like doing same school year after year. I think we should be happy with them doing the conference 'rasslin' tourney.

Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Congrats to Wartburg's Kyle Duchman for earning NCAA post graduate scholarship.

But isn't that IPTV doing all of the production for Christmas @ Wartburg?  I'm talking a bare bones deal where basically you have the school where the game is being played providing students in their media programs manning the cameras and maybe the color guy and then pair him up with some professionsl pbp guy from the state.  Push that this is an Iowa deal to bring in advertisers...Let me tell you about my Riley's ride to the game, Riley's Honda provided me with a car to drive to the game today...things like that.  This could be a 3 hour commercial for the IIAC every weekend with I would think mimimal costs if you employ the schools students.  It would be a winner for these students and a winner for the IIAC to get exposure in this state.

Another hang up...Coe won't pay for Heys Jr.'s tuition at Cornell.

;D

As big as that lad is I would have thought that there would have been a roof in CR that needed new shingles after you moved and thus there would have been another defection only Coe benefitting this time. ;D ;D ;D ;D
Play with Passion  Coach Ron Schipper

IPTV= "public" television. They could not get advertisors for the game. That's why it would have to be on mediacom or someone would have to pony up the $$$$.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Ok, as Walston said no advertisers for public tv and as you say the IIAC pays mediacom for the broadcast for the softball tournament so there you go.  The IIAC could pay $500 or whatever amount to bring in a PBP guy and then the home school of the broadcast could handle the production...cameras, color guy, halftime interview stuff like that.  I guess the only reason I would prefer IPTV over mediacom is everybody in the state supposedly gets IPTV...not everybody has mediacom.

Just an idea to get the conference some exposure in the state.  No big deal.
