I know this topic has already been addressed but, as a Bears fan, I grew up hating Brett Favre, my family on the other hand, has always been nuts for the Packers (nothing like an entire Packer Christmas...yuck).  Anyway, I think that SK made some great points in his dissertation on Favre.   However, the consecutive games played streak at QB is remarkable and will never be touched.  Whether your a Favre fan or not, you have to give him credit for being a touch SOB (painkillers or not).

Interesting article about the Yordi case....is the student who was "harassed" still attending school at Wartburg?

BB:

So how do you like the new redistricting.  I'll have to do some driving to watch your team next season, but in 2009 three of your games will be in our backyard.  (L-M, Columbus, West Liberty) Does this district make things tougher?  I assume anytime Sigourney-Keota is in the mix it makes thing interesting.  Good news is you'll get them at home in 2009 when all of your sophomore studs are seniors.

Check with your Def. Coordinator, since the bus will be going right through town for your first game next season, maybe you can stop by the house and let me ride along.  Even though your DC said I could, I never did get to call a play last season, so I'm primed for 2008.

I think we should talk about what each college is doing to diversify their student body, and if it is working or not :o

It might be more relavent to evaluate the quality of coaching experience rather than the quantity. 35 years at a 1A high school is not the same as college coaching.

Coaching at a 1A high school may be more relevant experience for a D3 coach in Iowa than experience coaching at the college level if the college level coaching experience is not in D3.  I say this because the type of player at a 1A high school and a D3 college have a lot in common--typically hard-working kids who may lack extreme athletic talent but understand that they can be part of something great even if they don't achieve the "superstar" status bestowed upon guys playing at higher levels.  Guys like Staker have a history of working well with that type of player, and it makes little difference where or how they learned to do so.  Not every coach has to be an X's and O's guru.  Even in a world where Belichick-style stone cold geniuses are increasingly common, there is still room for guys whose success is based more on their style than their smarts.

Coaching high school ball in Iowa Staker will know what kind of kids college coaches are interested in at the D3 level.  Sending his kids to Coe plus coaching there for close to 5+ years now he knows what is going on at the school.  Plus his coaching contacts at Iowa high schools his probably his most valuable asset.

When is each school doing their spring practice???  Will it have to be indoors this year???

More relevant in that list is how many years of D3 coaching experience. D3 is a totally different ballgame than D1 or 2. Its one thing to be a good X's and O's coach, but a D3 coach has a lot different things to take care of behind the scenes.

I would agree with this.  Coaching in HS compared to college is not apples and apples.  Being a head coach at the HS level may help with game time decisions and game management, but as Walston stated there are many other things that a college coach has to deal with.  So the years spent as a HS coach while they have value I do not think they can be given equal weight.
