Those stats are not setting the house on fire.  The comment on not making it at Kirkwood I think that if he played at Coe and did play at Kirkwood last year he has used his eligibility hasn't he.  The choice of Wartburg may be a good fit for his major.  Like SK if its broadcasting I don't know of any other IIAC schools providing this major.  Are other IIAC schools offering this?

I believe BV has a broadcasting major.  That was one of the other schools I was considering since it had a major I was looking for.

Thanks I was not aware of that.  Do they have the TV and everything.  I really think that is a nice set up Waverly has.

BV does have its own tv studio.  They do shows on the campus network.  There is a sports show, late night show, and other goofy shows that the students put.  Most of the time they do a really nice job.  When I visited the campus I was very impressed with the tv studio and I had no interest in taking that as a major.

They also have their own radio broadcasting studio and do some good things that that as well.

A Cornell player had made a comment about going up against Matt Ditch in practice every day. I can tell the same type of story about Guy Lehman. He was "old school" tough. Wasn't very quick, but was always looking for contact. I'll never forget the game we ran a fake punt and all he had in front of him was green grass and a very small punt returner. He went out of his way to run the guy over. I actually felt sorry for the guy. One second you're expecting to return a punt, the next second you're getting run over by Leman. He's the type of guy who could get 35 carries on Saturday and be running guys over on Monday's practice.

I agree, Lehman was the hardest running back I played against in my 3 years.  I loved playing Simpson because   they'd line up in the I formation with 1 or 2 TE's and Old man Williams would  run the ball 50+ times.

side note-  WB had the greatest goal line stand you'll ever see in a game against Simpson back in 98' in Waverly.  1st & Goal from  3 Lehman gets to the 1.  3 straight plays from the 1 and they didn't get in.

What happened to Parsons College?

Parsons went bankrupt around 1973.  Partially because of enrollment drops due to the school losing accrredidation.  I have also heard the faculty were stealing money out of the general fund but that was from a kid I went to school at Dubuque with that was from Fairfield and who knows where he got that info from.

Westmar also went bankrupt in the late 1990's I'm not sure when they left the IIAC.

Dubuque enrollment per the Dubuque alumni letter is 1,192 undergrads for the spring semester.  The 1,498 number you got included the seminary and graduate students.

A huge THANK YOU to Warthog and Charlie Kohawk for their contributions to my D3 room. If you ever make it out this way for a game you've got a place to stay.

Warty,
I have a small OSU pom pom that looks good in the mug. I know your colors are orange and black like the Beavers. Thanks also for the shot glass.

Charlie,
The clock and Cornell college shot glass are awesome.

I had a high school biology teach by the name of Wade "Woody" Winters that went to Westmar.  He was always talking about how sadden he was when his college went bankrupt.  He was a wrestler.  Just a giant of a man, and still for his age was in shape.  He was one of those guys that you serriously wondered how metally stable he was.  I believe that he was a national champion at Westmar, but I can not be quoted on that.

I had a HS coach that went to Westmar. I'm pretty sure the Goodchilds that are the good HS coaches are Westmar alums as well.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I had a REALLY hot accounting/computers teacher that was a Westmar alum.  My old friends still talk about her.

And Walston Hoovers little brothers kindergarten teacher is a Westmar alum!!!
