152 days to the opener!

DBQ1965, are you making it to the Rockford game???  We tried to make reservations at the Julian Inn but they are suposedly closed for renovations then.  Now my wife is trying to decide between staying in a hotel or B & B.

DF2K4...we won't be making the trip to Redlands.  Our sons birthday is on the 16th.  So we decided to celebrate his birthday on the 13th and then we could go to Decorah for the UD/Luther game on the 20th.  We decided that made much more finantial sense then going to Cali on the 13th and then staying home the 20th to celebrate his birthday then!!!

It looks as if we will be in Germany the first two weeks of September (a promise I made to a seminary roommate of 43 years standing) so I probably will miss the Rockford game.  I'm hoping the dedication of the new field gets held off until the BV game on 9/27 as I would hate to miss that.

10 - The number of conference wins the last 2 years for Dubuque...after winning 9 during the entire decade of the 1990's...you can understand Dubuque fans excitement!!!

Did anyone watch John Calipari's press conference last night?  I found his quote regarding Derrick Rose making free throws and winning a title vs. not making them and loosing was very interesting. 

I think its nice to hear a coach say what was inside his mind, and realize its not all x's and o's, there is some luck and fate involved.

10 and 1 during the 1999 Season. That 1 was to Pac. Lutheran, the 10 was Upper Iowa
10 and 2 during the 2002 Season. Those 2 were Coe and Linfield. The 10 was Lake Forest.

Good job, Show!  Central did change from the Flying Dutchmen to the Dutch.  The Flying Dutchmen was the name of a slave ship.  The words Flying Dutchmen are still in the school fight song and C U I is still in the choras of the school song.  Some things you just can't change.  Technically, I think Central is still legally Central University of Iowa, but is legally and officially d.b.a. Central College.

That is very interesting information in regarding to Central name but how they are doing business.  When did the change take place, or was it always this way.  This sounds very similar to the naming structure of the company that I work for.  Yes believe it or not BV grads can be gainfully employed

Klop, I don't remember when the official change took place, I would guess about 15 years ago.  Central was chartered as Central University of Iowa and that chartered name has not changed.  Because of the small size, Central has gone by Central College for a long time, mostly being called Central University of Iowa on graduates' resumes.     So it was decided to make Central College the official d.b.a. name if I remember right.

That was it!!!   Only you forgot to say that he was the best quarterback to ever play at Central College and that he was conference MVP and that he was critical in pulling Central though a number of close games and...

10 - The number of games the '07 Knights played in as opposed to the 12 games the '03 Knights played.       Technically, the both the '07 and the '03 Knight defenses gave up 10 TD's.  I still don't understand why the NCAA changed that rule a few years ago.
