Anyone have any information on the spring practices?  Who has had them and what were the results?

Don't think you'll get many results- No pads and no contact allowed. Been told its been running a lot of plays on air and a lot of 7 on 7.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

29 -- Iowa Conference football titles for Central. Go Dutch!!

Spent last week in Chicago....fun times. I took in a Cubs game, drank a little beer, ate some Chicago-style deep dish, went shopping, and had a great time....and it's back to the daily grind again. Klop, don't you live over there?

That was the best thing UD could have done for us.  That team was playing every game afraid of losing.  When it finally happened, they started playing to win and it was much more fun to watch.

Without revealing my source (who may or may not be accurate <-- how''s that for a disclaimer??) :)  I hear that Central will soon be home to Nate Snead (currently at Drake), Brett Wilkin (currently at Iowa), Ben Burzacott, Shane Wong -- all standouts on the SEP 2006 Championship team.

Again, water cooler speculation....

Did these guys commit?

Bursacott is alrready at Central, the rest are as committed as you get at DIII level from what I have heard.   ::) ::) ::)

Very True for Simpson it was good for the players and new coaches to mesh and get on the same page .

And who might that be?
Reality is for those who lack imagination 😀

Dubuque broke the streak. It was an early season game at Dubuque. The funny thing was Dubuque had a really talented team that year (1987) and the next year they were one of the worst teams I have seen in the league.

29 - IIAC Men's Cross Country titles won by the Norse (since 1961)

29 - TDs scored by Norse RB legend Brad Hustad from 1957 to 1959.  In those three years the LSU transfer ran 655 times for 3,943 yards (Norse were 21-5 while he was there)

29 - Combined win total for the Norse from 1953-1956 (29-6-2) and 1960-1963 (29-6-1). :)

29 - Combined win total of the Paul Hefty Era (29-31 overall from 2002-2007) :(  Brad Pole (coach from 1996-2001) never reached 29 wins  >:(

Ditto for Luther as the Norse are putting in at least a new offensive system under the new coach and new OL coach ( :)).  Two of the QBs competing for the starting spot missed time (one is out for track while the other pitches on the baseball team), so the run game may be ahead of the pass game right now.  I will be curious to see how good the new OL coach is and how talented the OL will be this fall (lost three starters at LT, LG, and Stavast at RG).

It does feel strange with Luther, Coe, Simpson, and St. Olaf all having new coaches for this fall.

You have to be upbeat knowing that 3 other teams you play are in the same boat.  Can make things on a more even playing field.  They wont know what to expect from you and you won't know what to expect from them.

Yes I do.  If you visited the city you might have visted Navy Pier.  I live very close to there.  3 things Chicago is great for, baseball, pizza, and shopping.  Oh wait I did I mention the 4th...Cleaning out your wallet ;D
