Its Friday-ANyone have any great plans for the weekend? I'll be at a Bigger Faster Stronger clinic from 6-9 tonight and 7-4 tomorrow. Fun stuff.

Hmm, let's see.  Saturday will probably be pancake breakfast, followed by taking my daughter to dance class, followed by mowing the yard again, followed by doing whatever my wife tells me to do, then I might grill for dinner and then hope we can get our kids to bed sometime between 8-9.  Then we will probably put a movie in and both be asleep within 15 minutes of the movie starting.  Repeat that over the next few months and that is a typical saturday for me until football season starts!!!

Our big plans for the summer do include taking the kids to the Des Moines Zoo and mapping out some state parks to take the kids to.  State parks are cheap entertainment, and fresh air plus lots of running around equals kids that go to bed early!!!

Probably go to Home Depot, pick up some flooring. Stop at Bed Bath and Beyond, if there's time.

That sounds so familiar you can see why I am excited about a 2 day weightlifting clinic

We're goin streakin!!!

No we're not.

Walston, just wait till your kids get older.  Then you will really get into a routine.  You should probably remind your wife what a catch she got with you.  You might be the only husband out there not letting himself go.  You're losing weight, running and lifting weights.  If my wife sees this she's going to wonder why I don't do more to work off these pounds!!!

So once Sept. 6th hits my saturday routine will turn into football from about 9am until midnight...with some chasing kids thrown in there.  Then Sundays become "yes dear, whatever you tell me" time because she let me have saturday for football.  Which is under 4 months now!!!

Don't kid yourself doolittle, for 10 years, it was always "get bigger, get bigger, get bigger" and when football was over, there wasn't much advantage to being close to 300 anymore.
The "letting go of myself" happened a long time ago. The main reason I started taking control again was for my health, the running has turned into a habit. If I'm going to eat what I want to eat, and drink what I want to drink, then I need to work out. It was either start working out again, or give up food.
I will probably be one of the few people that shows back up to their 10 year HS reunion who is smaller than when they graduated.
It probably seems like I talk about it alot, but it is something I am very proud of. I'm at a weight that I haven't been since jr high and I entered my numbers in the President's adult physical fitness testing last night, and I am in the 85th percentile, I was lucky to be in the top half when I was in HS.

Actually since high school softball season starts Monday, I'll try to catch up on whatever I can get done since now I will only have about 3 days in the next two months with nothing on the schedule. I'll also be going to a few graduation receptions. Can't have too many walking tacos!

Forgot 37 yesterday so here goes.

37 - touchdowns for Jermar Jackson last season.  21 rushing...16 passing.

37 - extra points made by UD freshman kicker Jordan Williams.  He was 37-40 on extra points.  And he was the back up kicker!!!  Andrew Fioramonti was 7-7 on extra points before getting injured.  D3 kickers might be more accurate than anyone on the Hawkeyes squad  ;D

Walston, you should be proud of what you have done.  Not many players, especially linemen that get so big, will have the willpower to be able to lose that weight once their playing days are over.  And they will pay for it with health problems in their older age.  That is one thing that concerns me about football is that the size players have to get to, to be good at the sport will hurt them as they age in life.

That is interesting you mention the presidents physical fitness test.  I didn't know they had an adult version of that.  I remember in high school testing for that every year.  I would be in the 99th percentile for the 50 yard dash and shuttle run but everything else would be closer to the 50th percentile...especially the mile run...I was horrible at that!!!  I'm plan on looking up that adult Presidents test, that should be interesting.

OK it's not football but baseball @ 2008 NCAA Division III regionals .

As it would be in football though. Loser goes home, winner continues.

This is the first year of the reduced amout of games high school softball can play. The association has lowered the maximum games a player can appear in from fifty to forty. This has cut down some non conference games and tournaments, but there is still not many free nights between Monday and the first of July.

Its for the Annual Meeting of the Michigan Conference UCC (UCC as in United Church of Christ ... of Jeremiah Wright and Barak Obama fame).  That no doubt says something about my theology and my politics!

I thought he caught one as well...of course I might not have been looking at the highlights too well after the Dubuque part of it, but I thought I saw a play where they threw the ball back to him!!!

At this weekend's clinic, every coach for the school is required to be there.

Track coaches may have a small conflict...  Speaking of which, I'm on my way down to the blue oval.
