It's raining and it's coming down pretty good right now.  Though it doesn't look that dark out west.  So maybe it won't last too long.  I haven't checked the weather channel yet today.  That said, it would take a lot of squigies to get the tennis courts dry now.  Unless they head over to the BlackHawk Tennis Club...just north of Byrnes park and play there.

I remember when I was playing in the IIAC tourney it was at Byrnes park but it was raining.  So half of it was played at the Black Hawk Tennis Club and half of it was played indoors at Wartburg.  And I think you all know I got my butt spanked in a pretty quick fasion as well that day!!!

So if there are 330 NAIA schools and only 90 of them that offer football.  How many D3 schools total are there vs. how many of them offer football???

About 440 Division III schools, 240 of which offer football.

Yep, raining pretty good in CF too right now.  Radar says that the line of showers only stretches back to the Dumont/Allison area.  Not sure if the clouds will break up after that, but at least the rain will hold off for a while.

Speaking of movies, I went and saw the new Indiana Jones movie last night.  I was a HUGE fan in my younger days.  I thought this latest installment was about what I expected.......a nice bit of nostalgia wrapped in the continued grooming of Shia Lebouf as a superstar.  The movie was good, not great, and entertaining, but not exciting.  They did do a nice job of making it look a lot like the old movies visually, but I was still hoping for more.  If you loved the first three, go and see it for no other reason than seeing the vintage hat in full effect.

Thus the reason I probably won't go see it.

I plan on an Indiana Jones viewing tonight.  I too heard that it wasn't as good as the others, like there were a few scenes which seemed a little unbelievable.  While Indiana Jones of the past may have had some pretty crazy adventures or situations he was in...they were at least believable.  Either way I will be going (despite $8+ to go to the movies).  This and the new Batman are two must sees this summer.

probably the reason i won't go see it.  i'd rather spend 8 bucks on 4 refreshments then 1 movie ticket

Sounds like you are drinking in a small town.  After stopping for a $4 bottle of beer before the concert yesterday, I really do feel like I was spoiled being in a college town like La Crosse who by the way was just bought out by AT&T.  Good thing two because their slogan not only works for them but the city of La Crosse...."More Bars in More Places"

ANyone got any Friday fun?

I put in my volunteer time this morning as a " Bus Buddy" at the Meijer Gardens and Sculpture Park in Grand Rapids.  Bus Buddies welcome the kids on school bus field trips and make sure everyone knows where they are going.  Actually, its great fun and a refreshing change from working with "adults" all my life.

This afternoon is lawn mowing time.  To bad the Spartans aren't playing.

Grand Rapids was a great city.  Went there to see the Gerald Ford Museum.  That was a great morning spent before the Hope game with Central.
