Latest information out of Des Moines.  It looks like the downtown bridges will be closing as well.  From the link below it sounds like Saylorville Lake is going to overflow and start heading down the DM River.  Sounds as though the proper precautions are in place and water treatment facility will not be affected.  I hate to say it, but never say never.  BTW:  The DM Reg has some pretty interesting pictures of the flooding.  I hope everyone is safe and is evactuated where needed.

SK I will agree with you once again.  Seeing those people on the 10 pm news saying "Daaaaaaaaaaarrrr I did not thunk the water would rise this high.  Ethel and I were inside eating TV dinners when the door came crashing in"

Yes another 100 year flood after only 15 years

Alfredeneumann

This is 100 year flood #3 for Waverly in 15 years. 1993, '99 + NOW. Each worse than the last. This year 2' 4" worse than 99. Sounds like I'll be here helping w/ clean up instead of in DM for NCAA track meet. >:(

STAY SAFE and HOPEFULLY DRY.

You damn kids!

I love this.  It was the same reaction on the MIAC board.  Message board SPAM.
Imagine the movie Me, Myself, and Irene.  SK is reinacting the scene where he takes the newspaper and does his business in this posters front yard.   :D

:D:D:D:D
I just saw that movie again last week and remembered how funny it is.  +k to you fr the great reference.

How about a little football talk to think about while sandbagging?

It seems that Coach Lewis has taken a position at St. Cloud State. This means that Coach Detwiler will become defensive coordinator. To help the defense, Coach Koehler has asked Willis to come back as a defensive assistant. Koehler is also giving up day-to-day control of the offense, although he will still have overall responsibility. How's that for an off-season shake-up in Waverly?

Now that is big news!!!  Former coach coming back to be an assistant.  An assistant leaving for the same school the former coach was a finalist for getting the recent HC opening.  And this all comes pretty late in the year.

Here is something for the numbers game we were playing...

56 - Career TD passes thrown by UD's Jermar Jackson

Don't know what day we are on but here is Tim Connell's career passing numbers.  6,181 yards and 58 TD's also 10 rushing TD's and 3 Recieving

I know a family that lost there house in the P-burg tornado and is for the time being renting a condo in Waverly. Tough situation.

Walston, do you know WHERE this condo is? The ones along 7th Ave NW are dry. The ones near WGC are as well. And the ones past McD's would be good too.

That is great to hear that WIllis will be back prowling the sideline.
I believe Louis was a SCSU alum.

Louis played linebacker for St. Cloud State from 1993-1997 and was a graduate assistant coach from 1998 to 2000

On the subject of flooding, I work at a John Deere dealership, and the rumor going around the office today was that one of the levees broke in Waterloo and the foundry and engine works were flooded.  Anyone in the Cedar Valley know if this is true?

I don't know if it was a levee in Waterloo, but the foundry was flooded and was evacuated.  When I drove by there about 3 this afternoon I could see the tops of 3 or 4 cars sticking out of the water.  Hwy 218 was closed at the Greenhill exit and there was water over all 3 lanes on the north bound side there.  The 6th street railroad bridge was washed away in the flooding.  They moved the trains from the rail yard south towards La Porte City.  I could see the Hawkeye Express sitting along Hwy 218 just north of town.  I did hear that the levee broke in Gilbertville but haven't heard what damage has occured.

Since Tim and Jermar have been pretty much linked together for the last few years I'll put up Mr. Jacksons stats.  (I have to get a dig in here because DF2K4 will really get to rub it in my face after Tims Redlands team beats my Spartans in OT this coming September)

Jermar Jackson's numbers...

7,825 passing yds 56 TD's
2,323 rushing yds 47 TD's
receiving TD's???  None that I am aware of...Advantage...Mr. Connell  :P

Jermar Jackson record as a starter against Central 0-4
Tim Connell record as a starter against Dubuque 3-0...um, advantage Mr. Connell
