I missed it, but several of the kids and some coaches saw it right away. Nothing like you D-coordinator getting some national press.

In other news...

Former teammate and BV alum, Grant Bousum made the Tonight Show with Jay Leno on Monday night.  It was the wedding names segment and it seems that Grant's wife's maiden name was Fine. They didn't exactly pronounce Bousum right, but it was the "Fine-Bousum wedding."  :o
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Boy this site has gone dead. It's nice we haven't had to talk about tornadoes, floods or any other natural disasters.

I think we are up to #64.  - There was an OL at Wartburg early in this decade that seemed to always busting his rear. I wonder what happened to him?  ???

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Fixed it for you.

WOW!  That is impressive.  Looks like UD might be setting the new mark for stadiums in the IIAC.

I was wondering if they might switch the view around on that camera from time to time so we could see that thing.  It is very impressive.

..........If you build it, they will come......................

Maybe DBQ is taking some lessons from the Field of Dreams???

Nice scoreboard Sparties.

Bringing highly accurate meaning to the term:  SCOREBOARD!

Tomorrow, Heys Jr. returns to the temporarily soggy Heartland.

We're not too keen to see him go back so early..but he swung a Summer job and plans to be working out all the remaining time.

Plus, he can lend a hand to help lift sandbags and remove some debris and in some small way represent O-Side and SD in Eastern Iowa recovery efforts.

We really feel for you all out there...Having gone through our own catastrophic event recently.  Seeing friends and neighbors displaced is a depressing to witness, regardless of how far away they may live.

I'll be sending some Carne Asada in a couple of weeks to aid the "Cornell Football Players who stayed to workout over the Summer Relief Effort".

Heys Jr...summer job...uh oh, is it a roofing job???

Sorry, I just had to, I couldn't help myself.

The doolittle family will be in Dubuque the weekend of July 12th so I will try to see if I can sneak inside the stadium and get some pictures to share with you all.

On another note.  Millie the wonder dog can now add "done time" to her list of credits along with skunk fighting.  We couldn't find her anywhere on the farm today.  Then at 8pm we got a call from the La Porte City police department saying they had her at the jail and if we could get her before 9:30 that would be great or they would have to take her up to the Waterloo Humane Society!!!  We live 2 miles out of town and she normally never leaves the yard so I have no idea how she ended up that far away.  She was shaking and crying when I came to pick her up...I didn't ask if they took her mug shots!!!  She's had a busy few weeks this summer!!!

And, I am very glad we are now under 80 days until kickoff on Sept. 6th!!!

That dog is harder to take care of than a teenager

I suppose it's too late to make "Free Millie" t-shirts.

Doolittle,

I thought you were more law abiding than that.  To have a law breaker in the family must really weigh heavy on your heart.   ;D ;D ;D ;D  Good luck at reforming the misguided pup.  I know that you can do it.   ;D ;D ;D ;D

I don't know how to multi-quote so here goes.

New Storm - My theory is Millie is "helping" me prepare for the day when my children are teenagers...which I am now halfway to.  Our oldest is 6 1/2!!!

footballdaddy - I liked your idea for "Free Millie" t-shirts.  Much better than my idea of trying to get "Rage against the Machine" to write a song about Millie's unjust incarceration at the hands of the man!!!

DF2K4 - my parents reminded me that when I was in 3rd or 4th grade and we were living in St. Louis, we had a dog back then that was also picked up and taken to the local police station.  So while the doolittle's are law abiding citizens, we apparently have a soft spot for reform school drop out dogs!!!

On a football note, doolittle jr, as an almost 3 year old is at this point showing no interest in trying to catch a football...but he is showing an interest in tackling anything and everything that comes near him.  So maybe if his body grows into football size he will be on the d-side of the ball in the future!!!  At this point he is showing a desire to not want to take afternoon naps so my dad and I are planning on making 5 IIAC games this fall and hoping to bring him along for at least a few of them.  The beauty of IIAC games is he has the ability to run around the place and not be confined to one seat...like he would be if we tried to go to a Hawkeye game!!!

the_mayne_event

i can't believe it's almost the 4th of July... as a player, that always ment summer was pretty much over.
camp is just around the corner, a little over a month away.
