Central plays at Albion on the 27th of September.  I don't know how far that is from GR but it is in Michigan.   ;D ;D ;D ;D  Did you attend the Hope Central game last year?

On September 27 I might have to be in New Hampshire for a meeting ... if not, I hope to be at UD for the BV game.  Unfortunately, I will miss the home opener against Rockford as I will be in Germany then.

I did make the Hope - Central game last year.

Here's a good website for all you gas price bargain hunters.  Type in your zip and it lists the gas stations with the cheapest prices.  Here in CF/ALO it looks like the Flying J in Evansdale is where I'll be filling up Thursday night.  $3.75 out there as opposed to the $4 you can find near the two local malls.

Thanks will be great when making a trip to find cheap gas really not cheap just not as high I guess 8) 8) 8)

There was an "oil specialist" on the radio yesterday morning as I headed east down I80 that said if it wasn't for speculators, oil would only be $40/barrel.
I liked his solution of if you buy a barrel of oil, you have to "take delivery" on it. That way Joe Schmoe couldn't just log on to his computer and buy shares of oil. That would get it down to 60-$70/barrel again.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Wow....that is a huge premium and not a bad idea to at least make buyer have the ability to "take delivery" on it.  I just wish the US would have adopted an energy independence strategy during the oil embargo of the '70s.  Maybe we can start to build nuclear, drill for more oil, expand solar/wind and other alternatives so in 20 years we would be energy independent.   Unfortunately, this is probably wishful thinking.....

Hey Willie, will they be allowing tailgating in the parking lots this year at Dubuque???

Or will we be having beers at the Dog House pre-game???

And how is the new basketball construction project going???

My wife and I will be at the Rockford game and my dad and I are thinking of getting to either the BV game or possibly the Cornell game.  Haven't made up our minds yet other than the Rockford game.

Not sure about the tailgating in parking lots. It seems some people do. Of course it is a dry campus so any serious tailgating is usually very undercover (gatorade bottles, pop cans, flasks, you know, all the containers security definitely has no clue about it  ;D

Personally, for homecoming, a group of guys I played with and their families get together at my house pre-game and usually some come back after to finish what's left  ;D

Last year I made nice signs around the neighborhood directing to my new house that said nice things about the Duhawks like "Down with the Duhawks- Spartan Fans Only" had to keep it clean being new to the neighborhood but also wanted to mark my turf to keep unwanted duhawks away. But, just in case, I always have my shotgun cleaned and ready to go if I see any buzzing around  ;D

As for other games, sometimes Dog House, depends on situation. Most of the time, I am just happy to get to the game.

Basketball area- haven't been inside- serious construction zone but new entrance looking good so assume inside looking good as well.

Another large problem that we are facing is the weak dollar.  I am not in the finance industry, but what educated people have told me, once the swing comes back around you will see oil prices drop and thus gas prices coming down as well.

I hate to see a fellow Michigander put on the spot.  Can we just leave it that he was cheering for the Dutch? ;D

Well things did turn out for the best in that game and you got to cheer for a winner.  ;D ;D ;D ;D

I don't get to Div I football games as often as I would like but I always enjoy them when I do.  And one of the things I like best are the marching bands pre-game and half-time shows.  I still miss Central's marching band.  I don't know what it's like these days, but it seems to me like long ago, when I was out there, even the tiniest Iowa high school had a pretty good marching band.  I can't figure out why IIAC schools didn't make better use of that talent.  I just got my alumni newsletter which says they are giving away band uniforms.  They must be a little funky by now but it is still kind of sad.
And on the subject of gasoline, I don't think getting rid of speculators will help much.  I know all about supply and demand but now that everyone in the chain from the producers to retailers know what the market will bear, I don't see them charging much less.  I'm trying to think of anything besides electronics where the price ever went down much.  I would say some airfares but I don't think people flying in and out of Des Moines ever got much benefit out of deregulation and we see where all of that price cutting and over serving some routes got that industry.

PHeys how is heys jr doing? Excited for the upcoming season I bet...I hope they utilize him more this season.

No soft, cushy beach lifestyle for him this Summer.

Heys Jr. is staying the Summer in Mt. Vernon to work and work out.  Express purpose is to get prepared for 2008.  From a team perspective I am encouraged that he is not the only one doing this.

Our hope is they devise ways to take advantage of his size and speed.  I have high confidence in Coach Dillon's ability to do so.

I love Countrytime as well.  Except my wife makes pink countrytime because my girls think its pretty.  I suppose I am secure enough in my manhood that I can drink the stuff.  ;D

My wife and I marked this down on our calender tonight.  Tonight is the first night since we had our first child 6 1/2 years ago that we sat down for dinner and ALL of us ate the same meal!!!  No baby food, no mac and cheese, no grilled cheese sandwich.  All 5 of us ate the meal my wife prepared.  Pasta, cheese bread, cottage cheese.  It's a miracle.  Now if we can just get the little guy potty trained by September we will really be doing well.  We have just under 70 days to do this!!!
