Great Article on the Central kid.  I can't really fathom going from 185-140 that quickly and then getting back to playing ball.  Pretty Impressive.

Also, in regards to the argument on the PI.  Being an "expert" on such defensive calls, I concur that it was not a penalty.   ;D

Walston,  I noticed the big Financial Architects sign off of I-80 on my way back from CF. (I had never noticed that there before)   Is that the home office?  Is that where  Heying works out of?   Tell him I said hey next time you run into him.

Storm, the meat head from big brother didn't play @ WB as far as I know.

That signs been up for close to 3 years. You'll have to pay closer attention as you drive up 35/80. Heying's office is literally across the hall from mine so I bug him with questions all the time. He's got some pretty good stories from his UNI days.
The guy that got voted off tonight is a body builder originally from Rudd in northern Iowa. He went to Wartburg, but I'm not sure if he graduated from there or not.
Brian Ollie is a Dowling guy from some pretty good teams several years ago. Also played at Iowa State.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

From watching a lot of football over the years.  You will see that kind of play almost every passing down of a game.  About the only time you will see it flagged is if the receiver really sells it by spinning around and either throwing his arms up in the air or flopping to the ground!!! Or, if you are an Iowa Hawkeye DB you will get flagged 2 to 3 times per game for doing that  ;D

I don't think it was a penalty...but maybe Pat needs to run a poll on the front page and see what everyone else thinks  :o

Devine, thanks for the kind words on the Central player and the accurate description of the BB Wartburg guy.  There's some hope for you yet.   :o :o

When I first saw the Wartburg shirt on BB, I thought, "Oh no, you just can't get away from WB, they are being orange everywhere!"   :'(  Just what we need, more WB time in the media.  Then again, as I have watched, I have been glad the guy wasn't wearing a Central shirt.  I realize they can edit the show to make anyone look good or bad, but thus far, I'm not sure the way he has been portrayed, allowing for the fact that he might not be the jerk it appears he is, it does not appear he is reflecting positively back on your alma mater.

The thing is, I'm not sure if I want him to change or not.   :-* Part of me doesn't want him reflecting poorly on Iowa people, but part of me doesn't mind how he has "thus far" been reflecting on Wartburg.   ???

I wondered about that.  Isn't Brian Ollie, Ed Ollie's brother?  Ed played for Central several years ago, was student body president and is currently on our board of director's.  His dad is a minister too, but I wasn't sure if Ollie was the BB players first or last name.  I know Ed had a brother that played for Dowling and went to ISU.  I now have a favorite for the season.  Thanks, Walston!

Anyone know when the field for UD is supposed to be done? I looked on their website and I see that it still hasn't been laid yet.

As Corporal Schultz (some of you youngsters won't know who I'm talking about) used to say:  "I know nothing."

The quote is correct but I believe he was sargent Schultz

I guess I was getting Corporal Klinger confused with Sergeant (yes, that is the proper spelling) Schultz.  How could that happen?

Hoover how are the FB camps going??? Any diamonds in the rough out there ??? ???

Just got done with 4 days of camp. Sunday-Tuesday of 5-8th graders and M-W of Jim William's camp. Monday and Tuesday were some long days.
Coach Ferguson from Simpson was working with some the older guys along with Clint Head. They had a probably half a dozen guys in their groups that will be on IIAC rosters next fall.
Between all of the coaches we had a pretty good representation of IIAC alums.
Williams, Fergie, Head and Luhlman from Simpson, Our Head Coach and DC who was hanging around from BV, a trainer from Coe, and me from Wartburg.
