. . . As far as lack of interest in DI season tickets in the state, after reading the nice essay in the DMR on Iowa's caring and responsive culture towards alleged assaults (NOT) I couldn't blame anyone for losing interest in these "student athletes"

I know its unfair to lump them all together, but I've never been a Ferentz fan from the off-the -field behavioral side of things.  And yet another public intox with avoiding arrest this week. . . .

Which IIAC HC's double as OC's?

Wartburg HC is OC

Dillon is the OC

Raeburn was OC, Staker is now OC (The son, that is).
HC Steve Staker could be the D Cord.  he was in previous years.

This whole "alleged" assault case is getting very messy and wreaks of a coverup. With this new letter coming out that was written by the mother of the victim, Someone's head will roll. I have no idea who, but somewhere down the line, someone new something and thought if it stayed in-house, it would go away.

he is a student of the game.  he will no doubt be prepared for every game.  he's probably the smartest player i've ever played with.  he is bit inexperienced, but so is everyone when it is that big of a step.

How many IIAC schools have virtual tours of the campus and campus buildings on their websites? Wartburg does for pretty much everything thing but the new "W". They need to get that building on their soon. I know a lot of people that would love to see it.

OC at 24...HC at 30???  Just think of the win total he could rack up if he stayed at Coe until he was 70!!!  7.5 per year would get him to 300!!!

Joe Austin graduated from Condordia in 2001, then was the OC at Augsburg by 2004, then moved on to become the OC at Dubuque in 2005 before taking over the HC job at Hanover for 2008.  Vince Brautigam graduated from Iowa Wesleyan in 1988, was a GA at St. Cloud from '88 - '90 before becoming the HC at Mt. Senario.  The great thing about D3 is you can get your chance at a young age.  Baptism by fire but I am sure the young Staker is excited to have this opportunity.

I have a friend in advertising that is working on a proposal to improve all of the IIAC teams websites.  He thinks most of them need major updating.  Virtual tours and videos are needed.

For those schools that have the new artificial turf.  How long does it take to get installed?  From the Dubuque webcam it looks like they tore out the old field about a month ago and graded and put in a gravel infill a few weeks ago.  For about 2 weeks or so nothing has been done.  What comes next and how long does it take to then lay the new turf?  I am assuming this can all be done in time for the season???

does not take long, but it will take a little bit for the field to get settled in.  i'm guessing they won't allow people to be on it until late august.

If I remember right at Wartburg they did it in an afternoon. It may have been 2 days though. Its faster than laying sod.

Coach McMartin is the OC at Central as well as HC.

On another note my take on the IIAC's stadiums from a fans point of view.

The Rock Bowl at Loras is the most unusual and the most unique.  Being in the Bowl is kind of nice but think they could use some seats behind the visitors bench to cheer on their team.  The concession are is nice and the seats that are there are very nice.

Walston Hoover has the best restroom space in the conference.  Nice setting (as all of the stadiums in the IIAC are being on campus)  The seating is adequate for most visiting schools but I think they could stand to figure out a way to get more for the big games like Central.  They are short for that game.

BV has a great view of the lake and is the most scenic view IMHO.  The bleachers are adequate space wise for the vistors as well.

UD has an average field as of last year but will move up as it gets completed.

Simpson has a nice setting and field.  The bleachers are nice but are adequate for smaller crowds.  They like Wartburg could stand to have more visitors seating.

Cornell great setting kind of like Loras as it sits down in the ground some.  The stadium could stand an update with some new seats for both the visitors and home side.

The worst is Coe IMHO.  The seating is horrible.  Not enough seating for the crowds at any level.  Big games or the run of the mill crowds.  There is not enough seating.

Central nice for the home crowd but think the visitor stands could use an upgrade.  If the remodel comes through that will be taken care of.
