My family had a bar in Indianola for that past few years so i know from experience Simpson has a pretty good bar scene.  There are about 4 bars on the town square that are backed every weekend with Simpson Students and the apartments are also a great area for student to party there.  my list would have to be
1.) Coe
2.) Wartburg
3.) Simpson
4.) Luther
5.)BV
6.)Loras
7.)UDubb
8.)Cornell
9.)Central

As far as the part scene goes, all I know is that footballkid enjoys Friday and Saturday nights at The Goat and Joe's a lot more than sitting in someone's dorm room  drinking, which is about all his UNI and ISU buddies do.

Of course, getting a "Dancing" wristband allowng underage people to go to the bars and not drink is a great idea.  ::)

It was much better back in 2004-2005 when Joe hired that kick ass DJ.

Didn't that guy win  eating contests in 3 upper mid-west states? ;D

I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Theone-
I wish I would have taken you on in my prime. I have only been in one eating competition and won by more than half the time of the closest competitor. I think I could have given a pretty good run for your money.
Last I heard, I still own the Ackley Sauerkraut Days Sauerkraut/Weiner all-time record.
I did a pound of kraut and 2 weiners in just under 2 minutes. I was exempt from winning though since the radio station I was working for sponsored the contest. The "winner" took over 5 minutes. It wasn't even close.
I did set the 80 oz challenge record at Wartburg while I was there, but I gotta believe someone has topped 64 seconds since 2001.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

As to having your school on the party list: it is a great thing when you are in college, but when people view your school as a respectable institution, you really don't want to be on the list.  However, Coe is an award winning top notch liberal arts school like many in the IIAC.  Overall, this is my list from my experiences in college.

1.) Coe – Going a little biased here, but here are my key points.  5 bars within walking distance (3 blocks)  Paddy's, Moose's, Mahoneys, Who's on 1st, & Homeport as the main Coe bars.  But then you have all of the downtown bars (or at least we did).  Flunk Day has been going on for over 50yrs (A drunken day of canceled classes and madness with kegs and food on the quad with bands) Also, I believe Coe is the only wet-campus school in the IIAC (correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not exactly sure).  Along with that, there has always been a good TKE party on most weekends.
2.) Wartburg – have never been there, but heard it's almost like Coe, just a slight step down from a few transfers from Coe to Warburg
3.) BV – going on personal experiences, that when I've been there I have had a good time...especially at Malarkys

As for the rest I haven't really heard of too many stories or haven't had any experiences so here is my guess
4-5.) Loras & Luther
6.) Simpson
7.) Dubuque
8.) Cornell – don't really hear much about parties.
9.) Central – they maybe have 1 bar in the town??  Located in a dry county?  Not helping the list

dont forget about Just Juel's (6) Tic Toc (7) Sip and Stir (8') I guess if you're getting technical then O'Mallly's (9).  if you're going to say Moose's then you can also add Mulligans (10)

I would throw in Tic Toc & Sip and Stir in the mix with surrouding Coe, because I forgot about them...but Just Jewels & O'Mallys are straight up towny bars that nobody really goes to from Coe.  And I will say that Mulligans is a great bar to go to and that many Coe students/alum go to, but didn't add it to the mix b/c it's more than 3 blocks away from Coe.

oh contrare... the Flunk Day Bar Crawl went threw JJ's awhile back.  i agree not that many go there, but it is in Coe's backyard, so you kind of have to include it.
I've only been to O'Mallley's like 3 times i think though, so you could probably take taht off the list.

This is weird for me to see UD ranked so low on the party scale based on my memories from so long ago.  That said, as an old man now who would be happy if his kids some day wanted to go to Dubuque, I am happy to see UD ranked a little lower on the party scale.  Must mean UD students are concentrating on academics more!!!
I have to disagree about UD being so low...there are probably more bars in Dubuque and East Dubuque than any other IIAC school town...Bricktown is a decent spot on Thursday-Saturdays, the Julian hotel (whenever it opens back up) is insane, too many strip clubs to name, plus probably 25 hole in the wall bars, plus the bars on the water..and recently (5 years or so) they have been adding some upscale type bars..Lot 1 and the Brewery place (or whatever its called) come to mind right away..east Dubuque just closed the colleseum, looks like they are re-doing that area, but that place was crazy..and cant forget chilli dogs from Mulgrews! Even now when I go back for homecoming or whatever, I still drink wayyy too much..the dogghouse is a block from campus, plus the walnut, the whiskey, fat tuesdays, etc..and remember, there are 3 colleges in Dbq

Looks like SPARTANS going down in the end zones ... and maybe the UD logo on the 50-yard line.http://www.dbq.edu/ChlapatyCenter/webcams/Chlapatycamera.cfm

From what I've heard about East Dbq is that it's pretty slumzy...and the strip clubs I heard you could leave with something extra than what you went in with, if you know what i'm talking about.

well CR used to have the most bars with all of em downtown. However my family just drove through downtown and said it was looking kinda glum with all of the flooding.  Who knows how many will reopen after they get it all cleaned up.

5... are reopening.  is that i heard.
there were 34 bars in the downtown district.  there are some that are supposedly reopening.  CR will be home to a Tilted Kilt (from Vegas) whenever it opens.

some of the bars in East Dbq were ****ty, but the colleseum(sp) and the other side are decent spots..and since they are in Illinois, stay open till 3:30 or so..now there are some hole in the wall bars, dont get me wrong!
and the strip clubs...well..they have cheap drinks and good music..best thing I can say about them
