Just heard - The new QB coach @ Wartburg will be former Knight Reed Hoskins.

Is he going to teach up his QB's on how to throw INTs into the end zone during playoff games?  :D

Signed,
2003 Linfield Defense

Maybe he can teach them how to create miracles in the mud or just any old miracle! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Wartburg goes
Norbert
Augsburg
Central

So a conference champ and both of last year's losses in the first 3 games. We'll find out how good the 2 new coordinators are right away.

Could be 0-4 after Septemer 27th!

With as much "drinking" showme does...maybe he should have chimed in on that party scene discussion  ;D ;D

No I just puffed on it but didn't inhale  :)

Slow morning.  In order to meet WH's two pages per day requirement, we better get moving ;D

Anyone have any final summer plans before school, football season, and all the family activities take over?

Doolittle has Pedro Cerano came by with JoBoo to bless the lawn mower for the upcoming season yet ;)?

Ooh, did we have a "Major League" reference today???

Summer plans for me outside of work include...mowing, trying to act like I have some sort of authority over my children, saying "yes dear" to my wife a lot, taking our kids to the pool after dinner so as to tire them out for bed time, staying on my diet...10 pounds lost in just under 2 months!!!, checking this site often in anticipation for the upcoming football season!!!

Congrats on the loss of weight.  I know it is tough to do.  I have been lucky.  The last three months I have lost 40.  Three months ago diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes.  I have to watch my carb intake as carbs convert to sugar and that raises you sugar blood level.  So with limiting the amount of carbs to 30-45 grams of carbs in a meal I have dropped the weight.  It is not easy to stay in that range since a bun on a hamburger is 30 grams of carbs.  1 slice of bread is 13-28 grams so a sandwich is almost there.  Lots of salad, carrrots, and broccoli for me.  If you can eat this food you can all lose weight.  The dietician (spelling)  told me for a man to lose weight the carb limit is 30-45 grams for a woman (sorry DF1)  the limit is 30, you have to stay there to lose weight.  Well I can eat all the non starchy veges I want limit meat to 6 ounces a day and carbs to 30-45 a meal and the weight sort of falls off.  I guess Larry the Cable Guy and his diet on Nutri System must be about like this.  GET ER DONE.   ;D ;D ;D  The DR and son of DF2k4 want me to lose another 40.  If I make it I won't have been this light since HS.

My dad was diagnosed with type 2 as well and he also had an MI.  Sounds like his diatician told him the same things yours told you.  I don't think he has lost 40 but he is in pretty good shape now.  Good for you, that is an amazing weight loss in that amount of time.  Even if you aren't crazy about the food I know you feel better.  If you'd like, I will eat Dutch Letters for you this coming october when Dubuque visits Pella!!!

That is huge.  I really miss good pastries.  I have not had a Dutch letter or puff pillow, my personal favorite, since the diagnosis.  I have been to town and even by the bakery but have decided that my health is worth more to me that the pastries.

Some nice publicity for the IIAC today with Senator Obama hosting a town hall forum at Coe's Eby Fieldhouse.

He had also spoke on Coe's Campus back in the spring when Coe hosted a MTV/Myspace Presidential Dialogue which aired on the internet Live (watched a little from work) and on MTV the following night or something like that.  Overall it's great that Coe College is able to host these types of speeches and is great for the college!

I think he's been to Loras too now that you mention those past appearances.  I guess he packed the Loras Fieldhouse, which isn't really saying much because the place has a seating capacity of like 14.

Not room enough for any opposition that way!  With room for only 14 they could not even get the secret service all in the room ;D ;D ;D ;D

Aaron Kampman on Coach Ed Thomas
I believe his greatest legacy comes not in how many football games he won or lost but in the fact that he was a committed follower of Jesus Christ.

Coe usually scrimages Platteville, so i would assume that they will be doing the same this year.  I think they travel there this year though.

You're on the hook for at least 12 ounces of carbs when we meet for the UD/UoR game   ;)

I think Wartburg hosted quite a few of the candidates around caucus time as part of the "First In the Nation" partnership with Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire.  Obama, Hilary, Biden, Romney, etc.
