CANNON BALL!!!
Sometimes You're the Windshield & Sometimes You're the Bug!

It's easy to grin,
when your ship comes in,
and you've got the market beat.
But a man wothwhile,
is one who can smile,
when his shorts are too tight in the seat!

How about a Fresca?
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

It's about time for me to head south of campus and "be the ball"

There are countless tales.... from what I've always heard, Wartburg has the upper hand on the creative side of things, too.

I think this is what you meant to say.

Some Norse are trying though. In the 2007 Waverly Heritage Days parade there was 1 college represented - Luther.  There are quite a few alums  and current and future students in the area. So they borrowed the Blue pick-up from a WC VP, got a college banner, matching "Blue Crew" t-shirts and entered the parade. Some in town had the some feeling about the entry that some at LC had with the Outdoor Nature Enthusiasts.

Yeah, that sure is ballsy...getting in a parade that takes place over the summer that little to no Wartburg students will see.   ::)
Call me when they land in the Wartburg Homecoming parade.

The Animal House quotes reminded me that Caddyshack was on last Sunday. Watched it with footballkid. The contest was who could do the dialogue first. He's pretty good with the lines, but on my deathbed I'll receive total conciousness. I've got that going for me. Which is nice

Isn't that what John McCain received in Colorado last weekn when he met with the Dalai Lama?

It's about time for me to head south of campus and "be the ball"

Big hitter, the Dali Lama.
Long.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Good. Then what's your problem?

I'm shocked -- I think my Luther friends may have been lying to me over the years.....I may need more examples so I can really call them out..... it sounds like they are taking credit for Wartburg's creativity....

The two phrases I always liked were "The sun shines on every dog's ass at least once" and "Even a blind squirrel finds a nut every once in a while" (said famously by one of my college roommates when one of the other guys we lived with picked up a girl way out of his league at the Pour House one night).

Watching "Animal House" on AMC right now.  The Deltas just stole the test and are about to be placed on double secret probation.
"Do we have double secret probation sir?  I dont know but we do now!" or something like that.
On the issue of thinkin how the IIAC will end up this year here is my guess.  This year the IIAC will get 2 school into the playoffs.  The IIAC will show that they belong with the rest of the conferences in the nation.  Cornell will get its first conference win in a long time but i'm not sure who. Like my grandpa would say "Even a blind man can find his way home in a corn field after a while."  Never really understood what that meant when i was about 8 and he told me that.  Central Coe and Wartburg, 2 of the 3 will be in the playoffs with UDubb outside looking in.  Simpson will have a decent year.  Luther will have a fall back after losing Sherdan (Spelling?) who was a lot of their offense.  The others will fall into place with that.

that is a lot of optimism to say all that...
i believe that the IIAC will get one school in because of how even the schools seem talent wise this year.
UD will take a step back
Cornell will stay in neutral
Luther will take 2 steps back
Simpson replaces them
Loras is irrelevent (may knock off 1 of the top teams... UD?.. Coe?... it seems to happen every 2 years)
BV and Luther will fight it out
Wartburg v Central will set the tone for the Conference.
We will have to see how Coe does in the non-cons... but they should be good because of their D.

The root of this question on if the IIAC gets two teams in or not is if two teams can go 9-1 or 10-0 and 9-1.  If this happens then you will see two teams from the IIAC in.  If not then only the AQ will get in.  With the NWC now getting a Pool A bid or AQ then the Pool C teams there is more competition for.  So for the IIAC to get two in then the MIAC and WIAC will only get three teams in between them.  If the NCAA gets smart and moves MUC to the East or something then you could see 2 teams from IIAC MIAC and WIAC.  But in general there is 5 spots for these three conferences to get teams into the playoffs.

Has anyone seen Street and Smith's College Football Preview on the magazine racks yet?

I keep looking around here and nothing has shown up.
