Watching "Animal House" on AMC right now.  The Deltas just stole the test and are about to be placed on double secret probation.
"Do we have double secret probation sir?  I dont know but we do now!" or something like that.
On the issue of thinkin how the IIAC will end up this year here is my guess.  This year the IIAC will get 2 school into the playoffs.  The IIAC will show that they belong with the rest of the conferences in the nation.  Cornell will get its first conference win in a long time but i'm not sure who. Like my grandpa would say "Even a blind man can find his way home in a corn field after a while."  Never really understood what that meant when i was about 8 and he told me that.  Central Coe and Wartburg, 2 of the 3 will be in the playoffs with UDubb outside looking in.  Simpson will have a decent year.  Luther will have a fall back after losing Sherdan (Spelling?) who was a lot of their offense.  The others will fall into place with that.

that is a lot of optimism to say all that...
i believe that the IIAC will get one school in because of how even the schools seem talent wise this year.
UD will take a step back
Cornell will stay in neutral
Luther will take 2 steps back
Simpson replaces them
Loras is irrelevent (may knock off 1 of the top teams... UD?.. Coe?... it seems to happen every 2 years)
BV and Luther will fight it out
Wartburg v Central will set the tone for the Conference.
We will have to see how Coe does in the non-cons... but they should be good because of their D.

The root of this question on if the IIAC gets two teams in or not is if two teams can go 9-1 or 10-0 and 9-1.  If this happens then you will see two teams from the IIAC in.  If not then only the AQ will get in.  With the NWC now getting a Pool A bid or AQ then the Pool C teams there is more competition for.  So for the IIAC to get two in then the MIAC and WIAC will only get three teams in between them.  If the NCAA gets smart and moves MUC to the East or something then you could see 2 teams from IIAC MIAC and WIAC.  But in general there is 5 spots for these three conferences to get teams into the playoffs.

I think it was written on this board that in 2006...the way it played out, that even if Wartburg had beat Dubuque the last game of the year they would not have made the playoffs.  So you would have had Central at 10-0 as the AQ and you would have had Wartburg at 9-1 with their only loss being in OT @ Central not making the playoffs!!!  Now, some years with the way other teams end up, I suppose you could have the IIAC champ and a 2 loss IIAC team make it into the playoffs.

Has anyone seen Street and Smith's College Football Preview on the magazine racks yet?

I keep looking around here and nothing has shown up.

My wife stopped letting buy any of those magazines.  Something about, "just be thankfull I let you go to some of the games on saturday" or something like that!!!

Scary insight into your marriage, Doolittle....  ;)
A pessimist is a man who feels that all women are bad. An optimist hopes so.

I'd respond with something long here, but I don't have time, I need to get back over to the house and switch out the laundry for her before she gets mad at me  ;D ;D ;D

Ah, football is only a month away!!!  My favorite time of the year!!!

You only show up as an All-Region pick on my screen, but maybe the Simpson SID is lobbying for you, so you will be an All_American.

Oh its all good fun.  Mrs. Klop even likes to weigh in on my purchasing decisions.  We are DINKS...double income/no kids and she still likes to ration like we are preparing for the 100 year flood.  I guess lake Michigan could flood and I guess I will appreciate the money saved when its time to buy a house/retire from this life of working.

You can NEVER put away too much money.  Ration away now, it won't be easy once kids arrive on the scene!!!  Especially if they want to go to a small private liberal arts school somewhere in Iowa!!!

What a man does in his own bathroom is his business and he should be able to read what he wants there!
NKD: "We need a f**king touchdown, excuse my French"
FBD: "I didn't know touchdown was French."

Plus Dubuque came from behind to beat Simpson, Coe and Luther.
See, now you are doing things the Dutch way and it works, doesn't it?   :D

Walston Hoover

If you are DINKS, we are DIKS. I've been told that before, but I don't know if my wife has.
Save, Save, Save. How much you save is something you can control and will have a lot bigger impact than the rate of return you get on that money.
Someone who saves 15% of their income and gets a 5% RoR will have just as much $$$ as someone who gets 8% but only saves 10% of their income. Figure out a way to take a couple dollars from your debt service, lifestyle, and taxes and you can easily find that extra 5%.
