every player in the iiac should have heart, or else why are tehy paying 30 g's to play football when they could pay 12 and just go to school?  heart is not a question in the IIAC or D3.  it more or less comes down to the talent you can recruit to the school

I agree with you on the talent requirements. I believe rating talent is relative to ones background too.

With Cornell having so many players that played out of the state of Iowa, there is a difference, especially for the California, Texas and Florida players. I know the top teams in the conference are confident in their talent. But I'm not ready to accept it as a fact that they have the best talent in 2008. I know its long shot but you have to ShowMe first.

I believe the Cornell fans will have to show this team support, much like you do little kids. Show the players that you believe and it will happen! If you cannot recruit better talent, then you have to make the talent you have better. Cornell has enough talent to compete in the IIAC; there are neither excuses nor time to fill sorry for Cornell. Take the talent we have recruited, develop the talent we need, mix in some good coaching and we can win.

There has to be a punter and a kicker at Cornell, tryout each student, girls too, until we find a punter to average 40 yards a kick and a kicker to make field goals inside the 30. We have other areas to develop and to measure for improvements. We've been 2-8 the last four years; it's time for a winning season. We all have to do our part.

"Just win baby", one play, one quarter, one half, one game at a time. That's how you meet the expectations in 2008.

Norse move in the 16th and test out that night I believe...I think Central moves in the 14th...

Coe starts the 16th or the 13th, i can't remeber for sure.

It has been a long time since Cornell has had a "true kicker". I think the past couple years the kicker/punter has also been a starter on the defense and I know last  year they couldn't find a punter to save their life. I think they just had a bunch of guys before practice go out and punt and whoever the top two were that is who they used. The field position battle has been one they have not won in a few years. I think even in the 2 games they won last year they were battling that.

5 IIAC punters in the last 5 years have averaged 40 yards/punt so if Cornell can find someone out of the blue to do that, consider me very impressed.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I believe coe reports next wednesday.  Most football camps start date depends on when school actually starts.  They are given x amount of days of football camp before the school year starts.  So if Coe starts the school year x amount of days before wartburg, they can report to camp x amount of days before wartburg can.  I believe this is how it goes, but please correct me if I am wrong.

I think it is based on when school starts like kohawk remedy said. I looked on the IIAC website and all the teams first games are on the 6th.

It's based on both first day of classes and day of first game.

HS games start 8/29 and official practice starts Monday so that's about the same as IIAC.

Purple Heys

Heys Rev. 3 starts Freshman football tomorrow at 7:00 AM

Tonight there is a Mom's event where Mrs. PH and all the other Mom's throughout the program get put through a mock practice and training session designed to show the positions and game philosophies of Vista High "Big Red" football

I told her it's OK to drop someone if they fall asleep in between the whistles...make PH Jr. proud.   ;D
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

It's gonna be a fun year I think...

I am looking for a big year from PH Jr. and improvement from the Rams;

Rev. 3 is getting his first taste of HS football, will be fun to watch him grow;

Senorita Heys is eagerly looking forward to concentrating on T&F at CSULB and we're excited at the opportunity for her to work with a great group of coaches.
You can't leave me....all the plants will die.

BTW -

The rest of the IIAC's in trouble.

We are preparing to send 15-20 lbs. of Eddie's Carne Asada to PH Jr. and friends for precamp fortification.

You may as well give up now.

:D

ShowMe....Its very evident that you love your Cornell Rams.  You have every right to, just like I love me some Buena Vista Beavers.

I have one request though.  If Cornell goes into the tank after 3 games this season, I want to see your same enthusiasm on this message board.  I have seen this in year past while reading this board.  People chirping about how good their school is going to be, only to have a rough season, and then never be heard from again.

There is a reason why certain schools take a lot of heat, its because their posters are Johnny Come Lately's.

I'm in it through the football season. I'm going to give 110% until we have to start saying, "there always next year", After the season, gotta go still the start of the next season.

Oh, I can't wait till we earn our respect, it starts on 9/20, Before the Coe faithful attack me, i'm just saying thats the first opportunity, the first real test according to board members.

[Each football program in the IIAC has a history, good and bad. The good thing about history is it's in the past.
Some of us still enjoy reliving the past! ;)  Central's past in my life time has never been a losing record and even the 5-5 season is worthy of remembering.  It was a growing experience and a springboard to the current.  Putting history behind you is all relative.  I'm sure Wartburg enjoys reliving the past, you know, when they used to win championships.   ;D ;D ;D
