There has to be a punter and a kicker at Cornell, tryout each student, girls too, until we find a punter to average 40 yards a kick and a kicker to make field goals inside the 30. .

5 IIAC punters in the last 5 years have averaged 40 yards/punt so if Cornell can find someone out of the blue to do that, consider me very impressed.

Have a little faith, wish us up some good luck.

I'll take a punter that can contribute the IIAC average punt.

Not much love for the Knights in the top 25 poll.

I hate to be cliche here, but where you start the season is not nearly as important as where you finish it.

Totally agree with this.

They will move up pretty quickly, if they win their first three games. St Norberts and Augsburg both recieved votes.

Pat...
Central vs. Wartburg a GOTW if both are undefeated going into week 3?

There's also a pretty good game that day between Mount Union and Ohio Northern but those would be the headliners, definitely.

ShowMe....Its very evident that you love your Cornell Rams.  You have every right to, just like I love me some Buena Vista Beavers.

I have one request though.  If Cornell goes into the tank after 3 games this season, I want to see your same enthusiasm on this message board.  I have seen this in year past while reading this board.  People chirping about how good their school is going to be, only to have a rough season, and then never be heard from again.

There is a reason why certain schools take a lot of heat, its because their posters are Johnny Come Lately's.

I gotta feeling he will stick around with me and heys

I'm in it through the football season. I'm going to give 110% until we have to start saying, "there always next year", After the season, gotta go still the start of the next season.

Oh, I can't wait till we earn our respect, it starts on 9/20, Before the Coe faithful attack me, i'm just saying thats the first opportunity, the first real test according to board members.

You should be here well after the time of there is always next year.  There is also a reason that you don't want to boast to much.  Being optomistic is not the same as boasting.  You have come here and laid down the gauntlet so to speak.  I will be one of the first to eat your crow or have you boast but to be as boastful and you are be ready to get it back if your goals have been set to high.  Purple Heys was in this last year and he maid it through.  I hope you can still be here when all the dust settles.  Klop is right when he says that there are many that come on and tout there teams only to have their hopes dashed.  You are welcome here and I hope that you stay.

I have to give Ash Park props as well he has been here all the way as well.  Not a lot to be happy about in MT Vernon but I do think things have improved.

Now on to other IIAC business.  Walston proposed to weight the games for this years pickems.  How many vote for that and how many vote for the way we have been doing things.  I don't care much one way or the other but we will need to handi cap the games and such if we go this way.  So we can discuss this a few days and then decide.  Remember to post your pickems on the pickem boards so we dont get into trouble like last year.  I understand now why we are doing this.

K-Mack you back for this season again?  Would love to have you in it as well.  Pat if you have the time we would be honored to have you do it as well.  Welcome back to your roots and the midwest.

I have been reading the message board a lot longer than I have been posting. I check out the board during the off season but do not post. I beleive the best time to be on the board is around football season. So please allow me to be myself without the additional expectations.

Also, for the record, I'm not boasting, I'm just being optimistic because this is the best/only time. I'm fully aware of the challenges we face, it will not be easy but it's not hopeless. There is nothing to boast about today, we haven't acheived anything.

I've actually rad Ash Park and Purple Heys support Cornell solo for about 2 years. I felt compelled to come out of the closet this season to help support. So, take it easy on me.

Not picking on you but we did get off to a rocky start last year with other posters.  I think we have a good board here.  We all cheer and root on our favorite team.  I don't mean to sound harsh.  I just don't want you to go down a path that we have been on.  I think it is great that you have such high expectations a fan should have them at this time of year.  I was just saying and hoping if your expectations are not met and some posters on here remind you of them you will stick it out and be here year around.  The more the merrier.
