Walston Hoover watched a game on the Midwest Conference TV webcast last season and said it was great.  I watched a bit of a Luther feed of a basketball game last year and it was pretty spotty.  If I remember correctly the BV video of their game was better but not perfect.

I suppose the IIAC team that puts out the best video service will be in the recruiting lead for Heys Rev. 3 in another 4 years!!!  ;D ;D ;D

I was wondering about the mini-tron on the scoreboard.  Will it show stats or could there be replays and crowd shots and stuff like that on there???  It would be funny if a player running for a touchtown towards the south endzone could look up at the scoreboard and see if someone was gaining on him!!!  ;D

If you are gonna do that might as well spend a few extra buck and you would have your webcast.  UD could put all home games on the web and set the bar for the rest of the IIAC.

Haha, I don't see them going that far. The trons at this level usually consist of cheesy graphics, info, and maybe some pretaped video.  That would be pretty cool, though. More power too them if they can find the manpower/technology for the cameras, direction, and set-up.  I'm guessing they'll go a different direction with the money that would cost.

Also, would the webcast just be from what is being shot by the team? Those are usually a little iffy looking, would we even want to watch that? I guess I'd take anything, but I feel like I'd still have to have the radio broadcast playing.  What audio is Coe using? Thats not too big of a deal, but it would be nice to see a little better quality feed for these games. Maybe I'm spoiled by ESPN :)

The camera quality was not horrible as you can see from the you tube videos that were put up for Central's highlights.  That being said I do not know how that would transmit over the net.  I am sure that it could be costly thing, but that may help recruiting of out of state kids.  It would give the parents of a lot of the Dutch players that are not Iowa kids a way to watch.  Colorado and Arizona are just two of the states that in know of that have kids that will have significant PT this year.  I think it would be a useful tool for the other sports as well to be able to stream a game.

Video would be great du-sz.

Don't sell the Rock Bowl short, that is still a great place to watch D3 football.

As Klompen mentioned about the visitors section.  I think that will be about as nice of a visitors section as you will find in the conference.  Being a permanant structure it won't get as cold as the portable bleachers that you can walk under.  There will also be a visitors side ticket booth/concessions stand/bathroom facility.  Light years ahead of the old Chalmers Field!!!

Only 1 month away from opening kickoff for the IIAC!!!

You would have to get fans first in order to do crowd shots :D

I kid I kid.  With all the success that UD has had the past two seasons, and the fact of this new facility, I see the future looking bright for UD football.  If anything this has to be a great recruiting tool.

SW MN State is building a new regional events center that they will play football in.  From what I have heard this has really helped the recruiting process.

Any word on where Coach B's son is going to go to college?  For the UD faithful sounds like you want him wearing Spartian blue, or is it bleu? :D

It would be great to see complete IIAC action like the Midwest Conf....I figure at the DIII level you'll have some spottyness, but at least its not terrible. Hopefully Coe can bring a good show to the net this fall.

The Loras A/V guy was talking this afternoon about getting student video productions of football and basketball back out on the net. He wants to do it and the wiring is there, its just a matter of getting the school officials that shut it down a couple years ago to reagree.....I'm sure this video would be a bit spotty itself, but it would be another option for folks looking for IIAC football on the web. I'll let you know if that gets the green light.
Not going to lie...Dewey is a pretty good looking bird/furry beaked body builder.

Dubuque just doesn't pad their attendance counts like BV and say there are 2,600 in attendance when in fact apparently nobody is in attendance http://www.dbq.edu/udathletics/football/udfootball/Site/Photos_files/Media/IMG_9619/IMG_9619.jpg?disposition=download   ;D ;D ;D  I kid, I kid

I have seen pictures of the Regional Events Center for SW Minny St.  It supposedly is a copy of the soccer stadium at Creighton.  Looks very nice!!!

I haven't heard anything lately about Coach B's son.  Last I read he was getting interest from Central Michigan and a couple other MAC schools along with UNI and Western Illinois and a few DI-AA schools.  He would be a nice pick up for UD.  I think any school would be wise to recruit a coaches son.  He would bring football smarts not every kid will have.

Here are some more BV/UD football pics for you Klop.  Just in case you want one for your computer background.  http://www.dbq.edu/udathletics/football/udfootball/Site/Photos.html

A little warm this morning, but this afternoon was great.
Great camp altogether. Most excitement we've had around our program since the first year we've been there. Going 6-3 and getting left out of the playoffs tends to motivate a team in the offseason.
We should be huge up front this year to the tune of 2 guys over 6'3, and 2 other guys at 6'2 and a 5'11 guard, averaging probably 240-250 per guy. Very talented TE and a returning starter at QB and 2 year returner at TB.
The team will be built around our defense though, and should be our best defense in the 4 years I've been at Dowling. Very young, but extremely talented, Especially once we get everyone healthy.
We also have a punter that as a junior is supposedly a top 25 punter in the nation and 2 placekickers that will have scholarships in college.
Now we have to find a way to compete with Valley and their 3 D1 guys and SE Polk  and their farm boys who really want to kick our arse.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

Hoover...Sounds like you have some talent.  Sad to say it sounds as though you will out class my alma matta.  Sounds like the Dowling teams that I played against.  Whats the repot on Ankeney?  Everyone says that area has just exploded in the two and half years I have been away from central Iowa.

I didn't think it was possible, but this hurts worse than Suckow's departure to Wartburg. I hope the Packer-Jets Super Bowl isn't like last year's Kohawk-Knights game.

I guess this is like Joe Namath going to Rams late in his career or John Unitus going to the Chargers.  Why can't these guys just ride into the sunset?

Some guy over on the MWC board indicated SNC had a good chance against Wartburg because the Knights weren't as good as they had been in the past.  I was ready to argue with him until I pulled out my abacus and did some calculating.  >:(

The seniors on the 2002, 2003, and 2004 Wartburg teams had average career records of 37.3 wins and 6.7 losses.
The seniors on the 2005, 2006, and 2007 teams had average career records of 34 wins and 9 losses.
Basically, the last three classes celebrated 3 fewer wins and mourned 2 more losses over their careers than did the three classes before them.  That doesn't seem like much over four years, but it does represent why there have been no trophies or playoff invitations.   :(

Hopefully Coach Willis can get the train back on the tracks.  ;D

Ankeny is very much an unknown this year. VERY talented team last year, but most of that team was seniors. They will still be very good, but I don't see a return trip to the UNI dome for them. Valley and SE Polk will be too good. Some people seem to think Waukee could be good, but that's tough to tell right now.
