WH, you must have caught Pat in a jolly mood.  See Terms of Service, #2: 'rolling the board'. ;D
Oops. Hopefully 2 minutes worth of rolling doesn't take away a lifetime of karma building  :'(

+k for that comment.  I got a good laugh out of that.  If we can hit 1,300 pages by kickoff time opening weekend, I will buy everyone on the board (4) Japalano Cheese Dogs from QT for all the efforts.  Now I do not say that we need to roll the board in order to make this happen.  We just need to find some topics that are worth hashing out :)

Casey's and QT have the best food when you are on the run. I am a sucker for the pizza slices. I have had to turn a new leaf and give up fast food. Now my lunch hour consisits of yoga, walking, meditating while eating an apple;)

Okay guys what's everyones cure for the hangover. Is it food, water, gatorade. I love hearing peoples concoctions.
I've heard obstaining works. When thats not practicle, try copious amounts of clean air, add in some clean water, sun glasses, a fishing pole and yes "a little hair of the dog"
Of course you will look a little silly going to work, in Chicago, on a cold rainy day.

doolittledog ...

I keep meaning to ask.  Was Cliff Bunting Director of Admissions when you were at UD?

I am pretty sure he was there my freshman year.  He was gone before I left though.  If my memory is right...it is often very fuzzy anymore!!!  I think he was living in Manchester then and wasn't enjoying the long drive.  Hwy 20 wasn't four lane back then!!!

Being in the All-American Division with the double "A"s for a patch that can be commonly referred to as Alcoholics Anonymous, I figured I should hop in on the hangover cures. Water and aspirin in the morning, but the best is Waffle House or IHop on the way home from the bar  :)

Being a Beake, I'm surprised that anything but water, milk, and the occasional soda has passed through your lips....  ::)

I believe that Central players reported today..at least the freshman did...I think most others report this weekend...its getting close!!!

Hangover cure...alcohol.  I prefer a spicy bloody mary, but a warm beer will do the trick.  Not advisable unless you plan on drinking the next day.  Otherwise a buffet is good to the point where you get stuffed then head back home and nap.   And you all wondered how I get a slim figure like this.

Let's see...The list of things to do before the season starts, (you aren't real fan until you've committed to print):

1) Predict preseason conference order of finish.

2) Players of note your team, the other teams, whatever...just keep it positive, these are our own kids playing for the purest reason there is to play.

3) Coach of the Year...put out a couple of reasons.

4) Playoff penetration...how far will our best go?

1) Predict preseason conference order of finish.
here's what I had yesterday

1. Wartburg - Willis is back and I'm a homer
2. Central - Will always be pre-predicted 1 or 2 (in my book) until they finish 3rd or worse
3. UD - New field, older experienced team ready to make some noise
4. Luther - New coach, new tricks
5. Coe - 3rd last year, can't fall too far
6. Simpson - D2 QB transfer could spark some offense
7. Loras - Dropping quickly
8. Cornell - Wanted to put them up higher, could see them as high as 5...always seem to root for them
9. BV - Someone had to be last

However, after reading some preseason reviews I could see Simpson moving up that list.

2) Players of note your team, the other teams, whatever...just keep it positive, these are our own kids playing for the purest reason there is to play.

Yordi, Hoerner, Herzberg, Goodchild, Botembe for Wartburg.  I really didn't get a chance to read a lot on any other teams, but a few names I picked out that I expect to hear about this season Brondyke (CEN) Remick (CEN) Dietz (SIM) Stover(s) (SIM) Reutzel (SIM) Wilkens (COE)  Brietbach (COE) Hall (LOR) McGrew (LOR) Malcolm (UD) Tierney (COR) Hardman (COR) Bladt (COR) Donscheski (BV) Hansen (BV)

Season preview from Luther?  Didn't really see one.  No non-SR's on All Conference last year for the Norse

3) Coach of the Year...put out a couple of reasons.

Glogowski, if they are top 3 and only have losses to Central and Wartburg.  Willis should get it if he goes undefeated and get the Knights into the playoffs.  But 2003 was an undefeated season for Wartburg and Niemann at Simpson got COY over Willis then as well.

4) Playoff penetration...how far will our best go?

Wartburg or Central will make it 2nd or 3rd.  If Simpson or Cornell (that's for you ShowMe) ends up in the playoffs I see a well fought respectable 1st round loss, maybe even 2nd depending on 1st round opponent.

did McGrew get reinstated to Loras?
That was their running back from 2 years ago, no?

He played there last year as well.  He did get injured in the Central game.  I wasn't aware that he was suspended.  Grades?

Team discipline i thought.  someone from Loras could confirm this.  maybe it was a couple years ago then?

I didn't get a chance to read any season preview on Loras but I saw him listed as a Jr. on the All-Conference Team and had some decent yearly stats.  If he is playing as a Sr. I would assume he will be the biggest Offensive threat for the Duhawks.

I have two hangover cures.

1.) A vanilla milk shake. Just not too thick. Too much sucking and your eye balls pop out of your skull.

2.) Don't get drunk. If you hold back and remain sober, just think of all the fun you can have messing with drunk/passed out people. Magic markers, shaving cream, and warm water are some of the classics, but in this digital camera age, you have unlimited creativity and opprtunity to share your jokes.
