Question of the day 8/14-
Besides football, What shows do you have the DVR set for/Never miss.
I'm hooked on USA shows so I have Monk, Psyck, Burn Notice, and In Plain Sight.
Also NCIS, and the CSI's.
NBC's Thursday night lineup is never missed-
My Name is Earl, The Office, 30 Rock, and Scrubs.
Also the Monday Chuck and Heroes.
All the Olympics are DVR'd right now and I've stayed up waaaaaaaay too late to watch them the last few nights, but it is nice not having commercials and it goes a lot faster.

The Office
Grey's Anatomy
CSI
House
Entourage
Saprano's (sigh :'( ) - RIP Tony
Hard Knocks right now

Also enjoy Top Chef

For a 5 month stretch in 2007 I was absolutely addicted to the food network. Diners, Drive-ins and Dives, along with Good Eats might have been my favorite shows for a while.
You come to Wartburg to play for championships

I forgot about It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia on fx.  Another good one that probably wouldn't meet DF04's "high-brow, intellectual" standard.

At the start of the summer I was ready to pick Coe to win the league. With Willis back I will now put Wartburg first. I think Willis is that good a coach.

Coe and Central will battle for second but I think Central lost to many seniors to beat either Coe or Wartburg. One thing that concerns me as a Central fan is that the Dutch won so many games the past couple of years on guts with some luck thrown in rather than on overwhelming talent. I just don't see a team with so many new starters having the cohesion to win as many close games.

I am going to drink the Kool Aid and pick Simpson to finish fourth. I thought they had some talent a year ago and maybe the coaching change will light the proper fires.

I think Loras will edge Dubuque for fifth. Dubuque had so much ability last year and didn't get it done.

Cornell over Luther for seventh.

My best prediction is that my predictions will be totally wrong.

Loras is interesting to me.  There are some...including people close to the team that say the cupboard is bare and it will be a long year.  Then a lot of others on here say the Duhawks will be the surprise team of the conference and do well.  Where is everybody getting their info???

Also interesting that before last season the overall opinion was Dubuque would go back to being a bad team because Belleus was gone.  Now we see things like Dubuque had so much talent last year and they just didn't get it done!!!  ;D

I find Loras to be a complete mystery at this point.  I keep checkin their website for something new, but all i see is a tumbleweed blowing through the football section.  They have a few key players back, but they lost quite a few as well.  There are many positions up for grabs and I could really see Loras' season going either way.

But, yeah, I'm a bit confused at this point. I'll have to head over to the Rock  Bowl sometime in the next couple weeks and see whats going on.

I hope we can compete with the Spartans up the street this season. It'll be interesting to see if they can maintain. If they have another solid season they could be on their way to remaining in the top half of the conference consistantly due to the base they've built.
Not going to lie...Dewey is a pretty good looking bird/furry beaked body builder.

Reading the Media guide from Central and the projected players coming in and back I was surprised that we had recruiters in Tokoyo Japan.

Just as long as its still a forehead and hasn't ventured into the "five-head" category yet.

Let's see...The list of things to do before the season starts, (you aren't real fan until you've committed to print):

1) Predict preseason conference order of finish.

2) Players of note your team, the other teams, whatever...just keep it positive, these are our own kids playing for the purest reason there is to play.

3) Coach of the Year...put out a couple of reasons.

4) Playoff penetration...how far will our best go?

2) Players of note your team, the other teams, whatever...just keep it positive, these are our own kids playing for the purest reason there is to play.

Yordi, Hoerner, Herzberg, Goodchild, Botembe for Wartburg.  I really didn't get a chance to read a lot on any other teams, but a few names I picked out that I expect to hear about this season Brondyke (CEN) Remick (CEN) Dietz (SIM) Stover(s) (SIM) Reutzel (SIM) Wilkens (COE)  Brietbach (COE) Hall (LOR) McGrew (LOR) Malcolm (UD) Tierney (COR) Hardman (COR) Bladt (COR) Donscheski (BV) Hansen (BV)

Sadly, I don't think we have him back. I wish we did! :)

OK that one I did mess up.  He was a senior last year.  But he was one hell of a player too.  Still looking for a Loras season preview.  Anyone out there have a link to that?  Didn't see one on their website.

Don't know what your looking at DBQ1965 but it sure looks like daylights to me ;)  Gotta love checking up on this board after being away from the office for the morning....almost 6-7 pages to read.

I have a friend that refers to the Food Network as "Porn for Fat Kids." LOL  ;)

Man, I don't watch nearly as much TV as you guys....I'll catch the occassional rerun of Friends, love Law and Order SVU, and I'm addicted to Desperate Housewives. (Yep, I know, let the jokes begin.) I will watch Pros vs. Joes when I see it's on. Beyond that, who has time for TV??
